True, which is why there getting Joe and Mike to do the commentary, they want to make it more familiar to the average MMA fan so they'll be willing to give it a chance by seeing something they can relate too.
Dana even said now that this WEC is ppv the pay days should be much bigger than what they usually are. Once its over I'll be curious to see the numbers on this to see if they attempt another ppv.

Not sure how well that's gonna work. Maybe it's just me, but I've always looked at the WEC as the minor leagues.

Yeah id be real surprised if they do another one truthfully. I look at it like half the time people dont watch it when its free, what makes them think people are going to pay for it now. As for them being the minor leagues...I just look at it like Zuffa's way to showcase the smaller weight classes that really get no attention.

I dont think Dana has really anything to do with WEC. Dana is the CEO of UFC, Reed Harris is the CEO of WEC and has been asking for PPV for a while now. If anything I think the Fertitas thought it was worth the PPV. The only reason there showing promos with Dana and Joe Rogan is because as I mentioned there trying to make it familiar enough that people will care about this event. I think WEC is a really good orgnization. I like the fact that they showcase the smaller fighters. As I said though, there ratings for free events havent always been that great and now your asking people to pay for it...it just doesnt make sense.

Watching the lights and feathers is awesome to me, they keep such a fast pace. Im looking foward to this card.

How so? Maybe when comparing their 155lb guys, but the bread and butter of the WEC is their lighter weight divisions cause the UFC doesnt have them

Not just you. EVERYONE thought that.

That's why they phased out their MW and LHW divisions and focused strictly on the smaller weight classes (even though they still have the LW division which overlaps the UFC LW Division).

According to Dana, as long as WEC keeps focusing on there lighter "lighter" guys they might be moving WEC's light weights to the UFC as well.

A few interesting LW matches are now rumored, Florian vs Maynard, Stevenson vs Gomi, and Pellegrino vs Sotiropoulos.

I'm going to guess that the winner of Florian/Maynard will get the winner of Edgar/Penn II(also just rumored).

Stevenson will win by guillotine choke.

Pelligrino vs Soti is an awesome match on paper.

Yeah again as much as I love Gomi, after seeing his rather lack luster performance agains Kenny, he wont beat Joe Stevenson either. Joe is going to be to strong for him.

the Florian/Maynard fight will be a great one, but I think Kenny will win by decision, Maynard doesnt have good enough striking, well when compared to his last fight anyways.
