D. White needs to do whatever it takes to get Fedor to fight in the UFC...
They've tried. They've given in to every demand M-1 and Fedor have made with the exception of co-promotion because that would be utterly insane. The bottom line is, Fedor and M-1 don't want any part of the UFC. People seem to forget that when M-1 and Fedor initially negotiated with the UFC, the sticking point was just Sambo, and Fedor competing in that AND fighting in the UFC. Dana and Lorenzo finally said F it, and was cool with that.
So once ALL their original demands were met and it was time to sign a contract, suddenly M-1 and Fedor decided "nah we need co-promotion too!".
Co-promotion with M-1 and Fedor = They supply Fedor, they get their name/company in the spotlight, they get half the profits and they get the rights to re-broadcast the show(s) overseas. The best part? They spend no money out-of-pocket and if the show fails they take absolutely no loss.
Sounds great right? Hopefully we can also see the NFL co-promote their shows with Pop Warner. Or maybe an NBA game with a high school Basketball team co-promoting.
Look at all the problems Strikeforce have been having with Fedor and M-1. It's a joke. Fedor had numerous opportunities to join the UFC. He refused everytime. Instead.. he picked BoDog Fight, Affliction and now Strikeforce. It's on him. Not the UFC. Him and his management are ducking. Hell, they're even ducking Overeem in Strikeforce. It's pathetic.
Guess it doesn't help either when you see the two biggest tests in your entire career (Big Nog x2 and Mirko Cro Cop) that you couldn't finish (3 decision wins) getting destroyed in the UFC (Big Nog has been (T)KO'ed x2 and Cro Cop's been (T)KO'ed x2 as well).
Fedor's entire mystique revolves around him being essentially undefeated. Once he loses.. that bargaining chip goes down the drain. So with that in mind, what would be the safer bet? Going to the UFC right now to fight the #2 through #6 fighters (Lesnar, Cain, Carwin, Mir, JDS) or stay in Strikeforce and fight #10 Werdum (who might be moving to #8) and unranked Overeem (who might be moving to #8 or #9)? What's after that for Fedor!? He has no more ranked fighters to face outside of the UFC after Werdum and Overeem. That's it. And BOTH those guys are on the bottom half of the HW Top Ten.
Anyone who seriously thinks Fedor wants to fight the best fighters in the world is delusional.
