I dont understand how you can like one and not the other. A fight is a fight. Its MMA. Alot of people, it seems love the UFC and thats it. Makes no sense. Yeah, the UFC is a better promotion. They have alot of good fighters, alot came from PRIDE, but are the UFC fighters the absolute best? You don't know until they get in the ring. Fedor beats all the UFC HW's, we know that. Lesnar, I don't even think he knows how to do an armbar. We been thru that. Can Nick Diaz beat GSP, Serra did it.

I just dont understand all the hate with anything non-UFC. If it weren't for PRIDE the UFC wouldn't have all these great fighters. Different Organizations are good for the sport. It gives fighters another option to become fighters. Alot of UFC fighters are cut after losing. In Pride it was how you fought. You would get the yellow card for "Lay n Pray", they gave fighters a chance to become good. I welcome all MMA.

We don't know that because he isn't fighting them but you're right we don't know who is the best until they get into the ring so we don't know that he would beat any of them....except Mir. :lol

That's a negative to both parts of that statement. I've been watching UFC, Pride, and K1 for many years now. Keeping up with all the fighters is like trying to keep up with NCAA lineups. I don't watch Strikeforce because IMO its the equivalent UFC and WCW making a baby. Sure, there are good fighters in Strikeforce but for the most part it seems like many of the fighters are rookies trying to make it to the big-leagues.

Im not knocking anyone or you for that matter hairless. Im just saying if you didnt know who those guys were then your telling me you never watched any Elite XC, any previous strikeforce fights before they got the CBS contract. The Organizations you listed are and were the biggest at the time. K1 is huge because its been around forever as far as modified muay thai rules go and its probably the #1 combat sport in Japan. Pride was huge, but we all know what happened to them and there fighters, but there still out there fighting for Dream and Sengoku and even Strikeforce....as for UFC, nothing needs to be said there.
Excluding the undercard most of those were local St.Louis fighters, but the main card were all names who have fought for bigger organizations. Again not knocking anyone, but when you think about it MMA isnt really that big at all.

The more orgnizations the better, and I agree, to me a fight is a fight. The more fights I have to choose from the better. I watch it all.

even mud wrestling?

Especially THAT! :lol

----------------------------

So Cris Cyborg has been added to the June 26 card with Fedor vs. Werdum. Her opponent? Jan "Cuddles" Finney. With a very solid and impressive record of 8-7-0.

:slap

Finney is on a 4 fight win streak. Though it's worth noting her opponents records for those 4 fights: First two were 0-0-0 making their MMA debuts. 3rd opponent was 5-5-0. Only her last opponent was a decent MMA fighter: Adrienna Jenkins who was 17-2 going into the fight. Finney won a split decision.

That "made-for-Carano-and-Santos" 145 lbs female division is terrible. The only decent fighter left at that weight is Erin Toughill (ranked #2 at 145 lbs). But she's been having all kinds of problems with SF so instead Cyborg is matched up with yet another woman who usually fights at 135 lbs. Expect to see Finney get ragdolled like Akano.

Also SF is matching up Cung Le with Scott Smith.. AGAIN. :lol

Almost as impressive as Randleman's 17-15. I've seen cuddles before and that nickname is pure irony.

Why would they have Cung fight Scott again? So he can avenge his loss?

And Coker claims these are the fights fans want to see. :lol

The real question is can any of you people beat this girl up? I can't imagine a girl beating my a$$, but she's a scary chick.

Ive met her twice and both times she was so nice. She was really cool, gave me a hug and said hello and then I got the photo.

Yeah when I seen Jan was going to fight Cyborg...I just thought the same thing like, really shes going to get smashed acrossed the cage when Cyborg gets going.

Nothing against Cris Santos, she's just in a horrible division that was made specifically for her and Gina Carano. They've already fought. Carano was never serious about MMA so she's not in any hurry to return. So now Cris has a very limited amount of possible fights left.. literally 1: Erin Toughill. That's it. All the other women she fights/will fight are 135 pounders who move up to face Cris which then means a big weight disadvantage because Cris cuts to 145 lbs. Basically her fight with Finney is another Japanese style squash match i.e. pointless.

What does Cyborg walk around at, 160lb?

What does Cyborg walk around at, 160lb?

Well she initially weighed in at 152 lbs against Akano which was 6 lbs over the weight limit. And that was AFTER she had already cut weight. When she was given a couple hours to drop more weight she weighed in at 150.5 lbs and the fight went on. The word was, a couple hours after the weigh-ins Cris was already back up to 158 lbs after rehydrating. So it's not inconceivable that she weighs 160 lbs+.

Meanwhile, the majority of her opponents at 145 lbs are actually from the 135 lbs division (who cut to make THAT weight). So come fight night her opponents come in at their natural weights (which is about the same as their weigh-in weights 140 - 144 lbs) while Cris comes in at like 158 lbs minimum and possibly 160 lbs+.

And you can see it, Akano looked like a teenage girl next to Santos. And she also got thrown around like one. :lol

Cyborg or Finney? They are both just Meh! I'm not looking forward to that mud wrestling fight... I mean MMA fight.

Who else is fighting on that card?

The only other fight I know of at the moment is Fedor vs Werdum...which I love Fedor, but that fight doesnt really excite me at
all. I wish he would just fight Overeem already and get this over with.

The line-up so far is:

Confirmed
Fedor vs. Werdum
Cyborg Santos vs. Finney (Women's Featherweight Championship)

Rumored
Cung Le vs. Scott Smith II
Josh Thompson vs. Lyle "Fancy Pants" Beerbohm (best nickname ever!)

And just in case no one knows, it's going to be on Showtime.

Both those fights are predictable but I'll watch the Fedor fight. Maybe Werdum will put sand in his gloves and blind Fedor. But since Fedor is an MMA God (this is according to his super fans), he'll be able to use his super sense of smell to see Werdum and win by cutting him in half.

Mmm.....Gina Carano. I would do some naughty things with her.

Looks like Nick Diaz is going to fight Sakurai at the next Dream. Damn thats going to be so awesome. I like Sakurai, but I have a feeling Nick is going to pick him apart, the same way he did Gomi.

Win or lose, I'll always be a Gina fan, plus as noted, shes so hot.
