I wouldnt say the UFC's HW division sucks but it is lacking. I think its because the UFC focuses more on the LW division. Plus they have tried to strengthened the division but when people duck them (Fedor) and people test positive for roids (Sylvia), it can be a bit difficult.
The current roster is awesome. The division has been plagued by injury for the last few years. We have had so many interim champs... It's hard for me to find someone to cheer for.

I wouldn't call that better competition. They were all top competition at the time. I don't discount that because they are at the bottom now.

I wasn't. I completely took into consideration their status back when each guy fought them. Not by their standings today.

Pedro Rizzo
Coming off a KO win over Barnett before the 1st fight with Couture.

Gabriel Gonzaga
Coming off a KO win over Cro Cop.

Andrei Arlovski
Coming off a KO win over Paul Buentello before the 1st fight with Sylvia.

Jeff Monson
Coming off a TKO win over Anthony Perosh.

When Couture fought Pedro (first time) and Gonzaga both guys were coming off big wins over credible HW's. Barnett was undefeated before the KO loss to Rizzo and Cro Cop had just won the PRIDE Open Weight Grand Prix (coincidently with a sub win (strikes) over Barnett). Not to mention after Rizzo lost back-to-back fights to Couture in his next fight he KO'ed Arlovski.

I'm sorry but you can't really compare Couture's and Sylvia's competition when it comes to title defenses (even taking into account their standings back then).

:lol
I need to watch this fight. I can't see how the this could have ended well.

Credit to sherdog's people for the pic.

Fedor sucks.

You're a strange dude. You like the UFC but have no favorite fighters (riding the wagon) I guess. You don't own any SS figures but have over 6000 post which most are in the UFC Thread, and all the others are basically wise cracks. You must collect HT or something. I'm not trying to be a jerk, just think its strange. But you may think I'm strange for having a big SS collection. No biggie. Just would like to critique one of your favorite fighters, but you don't have one. :gah:

Anyway are you a member on any 'real' MMA forums? The topics here get lost so quick within one thread, plus its a collectors forum. You have a lot of insight and it would make great debates in a real MMA forum. Dont waste your talent.

Like I've said, I like MMA. Could less about what brand delivers it. Transport all the fighters in the UFC to Strikeforce, Bellator, MFC, etc and I would be calling those orgs #1. It's about the fighters.. not the org.

Yes.. most of what I have is from Hot Toys. And no, the majority of my posts are actually in the DC section.

Not really tbh. Most people on here have enormous collections. Me? I have like 10 collectibles (which you can see in my gallery). Not a big collector by any stretch of the imagination. :lol

So the truth finally comes out. :yess:

There's no way Devil doesn't have at least double his amount of posts here, on sherdog.:lol

It's funny, but I've never bothered to join a MMA site because imo it would be a waste of time. Too many die hard fans so I think any type of real conversation/exchange of opinions would be impossible in an environment like that.

The only other site I'm active on is a Rap/Hip-Hop forum I admin. Been a member since 03 (first forum I joined). So I'm either on here or on there.

Real Talk: I didn't even start getting on the internet until early 2003 (and it was at work on a work computer). Didn't even own a computer until late 2004/2005. :lol

This is 100% correct sir. MMA/Combat sports are the only sports I follow...dont care for any of those "normal" mainstream sports like baseball or football.

Yeah, I have the same mentality. I've had a sherdog account since 06 I think. I should have less that 20 posts. I use it every now and then to look at funny pics/gifs and whatnot. You can only see like 10 posts without changing settings, so being able to do so makes it worth having. Any forum that gives silly awards like sherdog's belts is just asking for trouble.:lol

I talk MMA here and on the McFarlane forum.

Can't remember if this was discussed or not (so it's kinda old) but Roger Huerta lost to Pat Curran (Unanimous Decision) in the Semi's of the Bellator LW Tourney.

Now it's Pat Curran vs. Toby Imada for the final at Bellator 22 on June 10. Also, Megumi Fujii will be fighting the same day. Then she's scheduled to take part in a 115 lbs women's tournament Bellator will be holding starting August. If you've never seen this chick fight go search YouTube. She's a F'n beast on the ground (19-0 with 16 submissions).

"Several athletes have crossed over to mixed martial arts over the past several years, with varying degrees of success. Former baseball slugger Jose Canseco embarrassed himself in Japan last year. Football legend Herschel Walker acquitted himself quite well in winning a Strikeforce match earlier this year, and veteran boxer James Toney will fight Randy Couture in the UFC this summer.

But will we quite literal see the biggest MMA crossover of them all any time soon?

UFC president Dana White told "The Dan Patrick Show" that of all the celebrities who have become MMA fans, NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal is the one who wants in the cage the most.

"Shaq's been terrorizing me for years [to fight in the UFC]. He's been training for years," White said. When Patrick asked if White would face him, Dana quickly said, "Hell no! I'm not facing him."

The 38-year-old O'Neal, who was attending live UFC events long before MMA became cool, spends his offseasons in Florida training mixed martial arts. Last spring, he called out UFC Hall-of-Famer Chuck Liddell to face him in a bout.

But despite O'Neal's obvious size advantage, White is confident that his best-known star Liddell would have no problem taking care of O'Neal. White does give the edge to O'Neal if he were to face football player/Olympian/fighter Walker, who had his first fight earlier this year.

However, White did throw O'Neal a bone. You won't see him in the actual Octagon, but O'Neal is a hidden, unlockable character in the latest version of the UFC video game, UFC Undisputed. Press the right codes, and you can see O'Neal face Liddell."
