TUF 12 began filming yesterday.

Filming began today on season 12 of The Ultimate Fighter. Josh Koscheck tweeted a pic of himself with Georges St. Pierre shooting some footage for the show’s introduction. GSP and Kos will fight in December for the UFC welterweight title.

Koscheck lost a unanimous decision to St. Pierre at UFC 74 that would’ve put him in line for a title shot against Matt Serra. Even though Koscheck has won three straight fights and he will be the underdog going into the fight.

TUF 12 will air in September on Spike TV.

That December card could also feature the winner of Lesnar and Carwin vs. Cain Velasquez.

I think GSP will actually be the better coach; How could you not be better fighter being taught by GSP? That should be a good season. Its good to know Cain is finally getting a title shot too

Cain just gave a recent interview and confirmed that he's opted to sit out until his title shot. He could've taken a fight in the mean time but I guess he figured why risk a guaranteed title shot (either by loss or by injury).

UFC Cuts (2010) So far..

Kyle Bradley, Jay Silva, Rolles Gracie, Phillipe Nover (The Next GSP :lol) Frank Trigg, Mark Coleman, Justin Buchholz, Eliot Marshall, Shannon Gugerty, Eric Schafer, Caol Uno, Lucio Linhares, Chase GormleyRory, Rafaello Oliveira, Jason High, Rob Emerson, Brad Blackburn, Fabricio Camoes, Matt Veach, Mustapha Al Turk, Tim Hague, Yoshiyuki Yoshida, Jonathan Goulet, Kimbo Slice, Paul Daley and Paul Buentello.

I remember Yoshida coming in as a good prospect. Didn't work out too well for him. Buentello said he's still on good terms so after a couple minor league wins he'll probably be re-signed. Still kinda shocked about Veach getting cut. Yeah he was 1-2 in the UFC (11-2 overall) but still.. those two losses are against Frankie Edgar (Current LW Champ) and Paul Kelly.

All those fighters will be picked up by some other organization.

What is the weight class going to be for the next TUF? Hopefully it wont be plagued with injuries like this seasons own was.

I'm glad Trigg got cut. He can stay home or go train people or something. Damn can fighter.

I never heard any comparison to GSP, I dont see how they were similar at all. Nover had good stand up, and good ground game, but he got out wrestled in the TUF finale. I never saw him fight after that one, but he had some good potential. I know he is a nurse, so I wander if knowing he had a very good job before had anything to do with anything :lol.

I'm going to go out on a big limb here and say Kos beats GSP in december. This is completely baseless, I just have the feeling in my gut.

Personally if Kos beat GSP...I think that would be awesome...while I like George, Im ready to see someone else hold the belt.

Koscheck is my favorite fighter :)nana: Yes! I'm serious, don't judge me :nana:) and I am really excited for this TUF season and WW title fight. :yess:

Of course I am biased but Koscheck shouldn't be as big of an underdog as people are making him out to be. His wrestling is second only to GSP, their first fight was close (29-28) and he does have the power to KO GSP.

GSP is the better fighter, but MMA is about the MATCHUPS and if anyone matches up well with GSP it's Koscheck.:exactly:

Jon Fitch is a grinder (I can respect that since he's really good at what he does) Thiago Alves is Muay Thai with a BJJ black belt (that he rarely uses and if he does it's as a defense, ala Matt Serra). Paulo Thiago, Dan Hardy, and Paul Daley all struggle with top level wrestlers. Mike Swick and Martin Kampmann definetly don't deserve it.

The only interesting matchups left for GSP are Koscheck, Nick Diaz, and Jake Shields (assuming he moves back down). Two of those fights cannot happen right now and one probably never will (Diaz) but who knows Joe Rogan and many other fighters want Diaz in the UFC so I wouldn't be surprised if he does wind up in the UFC in the next couple of years.

And if anyone thinks that Anderson Silva moving down to WW finally allowes us to see the superfight we have all been waiting for they are sadly mistaken. Silva's weight would be to spaced out and he would get taken down and overpowered with ease.

My point - stop undesestimating Koscheck just because you don't like him. BTW this isn't mainly for this forum it's just something I need to say because of all the things I read online.:monkey4

How is Kos a good match up but Fitch isnt? In my opinion, Fitch and Kos should fight and the winner should face GSP.

And no one is underestimating Kos. Just going by what we saw in his fight with GSP before. Both fighters have gotten better. We'll see in December.

And Bleh at Sheilds.

And you also need to go and see a doctor. lol

Fitch isn't as explosive as Kos. Fitch is more of the stronger, muscle you to the ground type of dude. Kos explodes so quick and drives people till they either hit the ground of the fence.

Fitch = No KO power and little submission offense.
Kos = Ko power and minor submission offense.

I'm not saying Kos can sub GSP because I dont think he can but he definetly can KO GSP if he lands his big right hand.

We could definetly see Kos stop GSP's takedowns and turn it into a standup battle or even put GSP on his back. I don't understand how anyone could argue this...

Sorry but Kos doesn't match up well with GSP. like everyone said, GSP has superior wrestling but that is not the most important point....

The fact that GSP's striking is on the elite level and Kos' is imo not yet even at a pro level is the huge difference. Kos will get eaten up on his feet, then his attempts to take the fight to the ground will spell his doom.
