I think Chuck still has skills, punching power, but once the chin goes, its gone. You can get stronger, faster, etc., but you could never get your chin back. And theres a big difference from losing on strikes and being knocked out cooled. I think it leaves permanent damage someway or other.

Maybe it just seemed rushed to me cause like I said, usually hes a counter striker and he just kept chasing Rich and all I kept thinking was Rashad all over again. So if anything maybe he was just rushing and paid for it. Either way thats not the same Chuck we all knew back in the day. Hes still an awesome fighter, just not the same fighter.

He hasnt been a counter striker in awhile cause guys know thats what made Chuck really successful before; I think he can still fight, just not against the top tier fighters anymore, and I know he would rather retire than fight scrubs.

I hope he retires, im not a huge Chuck fan, but I know whats hes done for the sport and I dont want him to just become a knockout dummy just because he brings in the $$

Lol....Dana White- "I don't give a S##T about Strikeforce. They're the minor leagues." :rock

Typical Dana :lol

About Chuck,he looked really good,a real shame his chin isn´t what it used to be.Not sure i would say that is a reason to retire as he put on a real good performance, getting knocked out can happen to anyone except BJ Penn :lol

But who else is he going to fight? :dunno Forrest? lol How many more punches can he take?

Rich Franklin Knock Out L

Mauricio Rua Technical Knock Out L

Rashad Evans Knock Out L

Quinton Jackson Technical Knock Out L

*Random question- Have any of you guys purchased any of the lithographs on the UFC site? I wish they had a signed GSP version or made a Jon Jones or Rampage lithograph. They look great, but they need more fighters. :gah:

I did yesterday when I was wasting time. Thought they were pretty slick looking, but no spare $$ to buy them.

That is a good list of knockout artists, remember that.I wouldn´t be ashamed if i had that on my record, knocked out by Shogun,Rampage and Rashad,i admit...We don´t know Franklin as a knockout artist but Chuck jumped over Franklin and left his chin wide open so Franklin could get a clean shot.
Many top fighters gets knocked out, that doesn´t mean they should retire as long as they can go in there and perform, and Chuck looked great last night.

And i thought he just got tired after the first round or wanted to go 3 Rounds with Cro-Cop because he respects him that damn much.

Yes Chuck looked good BUT he has been TKO'd or KO'd 4 times in the last 3 years. Is that something you want on a record? And who else is he going to fight now?

:goodpost:

he looks like he wants to say some bad things to the person who took the picture. lol

But that list of the Chuck KO's were all Brutal KO's, Lights Out. Thats permanent damage. He's Done. I thought he looked good, I Love Chuck's Killer instinct, but the shot that KO'd him was not a hard shot. I feel bad for him, but I can't see him ever fighting again.

iunno.. Franklin has more TKO/KO wins than subs or decisions. And he also has that brutal highlight reel KO over Quarry. So it's not like this was the first KO win of his career.

But I agree that all Chuck's recent losses are to guys that have KO'ed people into la la land before. Still doesn't change the fact that he's getting KO'ed easier and easier now (which is what happens with concussions).

the shot that KO'd him was not a hard shot.
Yup. It was a very short hook but it was basically an arm punch with very little power behind it. Franklin didn't even turn into it with full force.

I dunno mate I think he should retire, all the signs are there. Dana made it pretty clear he won't fight in the UFC gain anyways. Saying that, how many times has he said that.

I still haven't watched it yet other than on youtube but to me it looked like Chuck practically ran into the punch, can that make a punch more effective even if it's not all that powerful?

Id say yes, to me its like the old head on collision type of example. While it might not have been an all powerful punch, the fact that Chuck had his weight going foward, I can almost bet added some extra
power to that punch in which we seen the result.

I am a Chuck fan. But the dude took over a year off and then gets taken out by a right hand that wasn't even that hard. Time to call it quits imo. He had a good run.

Moving on....I can't wait for UFC 116! I don't care who wins as long as one gets KTFO.
