Well, weather or not he earned the right to fight for the belt, he got the shot and convincingly took it from Couture.

So he may not have earned the right to fight for the belt, he did earn the belt by defeating the champ.

That is very true, but it goes to show you if the UFC wants to make someone popular and put them in a title fight they will.:monkey4:monkey4:monkey4:monkey4:monkey4

O dude same here. I really don't like Evans or Lesnar and hope they both get beat. Personally i don't understand why Lesnar even got a shot at the title in the first place, i mean Heath Herring is ok but he isnt a guy that if you beat you automatically get a shot at the title. I think that the UFC wanted to get Lesnar in there just so they could get the fans from the WWE or wherever he came from. I mean he has talent but in no way should he have gotten a title shot. There are at least 5 people in the UFC who are on a 5 plus win streak in the UFC and still don't get a title shot. I mean Thiago Alves has beaten Matt Hughes and Josh Koscheck and is on a 7 fight win streak and still won't get a title shot.

But Lesnar is in the weakest and thinnest division in the UFC while Alves is stuck in one of the deepest divisions. That's why it takes longer to get to a title shot.

Yeah, Dana is a business man first and foremost. He is not that far removed from Vince McMahon, putting asses in the seats and selling payper views is above all else. And creating hype is what Dana does best, and to his credit he has taken the UFC from being banned in 27 states to outperforming boxing and WWE and becoming so widely excepted.

But I totally see your point, Lesnar should have had to fight a couple more fights.

UFCs heavy weight devision is SO depleted right now.

I'd like to see Lesnar in Affliction and see how he does.

That is also very true but it's not like it's Lesnar, Couture, Mir, and Nogueria. There's also Check Kongo who fought Saturday, and Gabrial Gonzaga in the Heavyweight division. Both of those fighters deserved a title shot before Lesnar.

Gonzaga was well on his way to a title shot until he lost to Randy. Back down the short ladder and work your way up. Until this weekend, Kongo hadn't been all that impressive since he's a one dimensional fighter.

Brock got the shot because of the amount of $$ he was being paid and the UFC, as a business, needed to capitalize on him fast. If he had suffered 2-3 losses, then they would have lost a ton of money. Putting him against Randy for the belt put the UFC in a win-win situation. If Randy could have won, the UFC won due to Randy's return and "excuses" could be made against Brock being green, etc. With Brock winning, the UFC wins because they can, and are, build him up as the one to dethrone a legend.

It's close to 50/50 on who deserves a title shot and who is marketable. Afterall, the UFC is a business and the business is making money.

Good points there, but i still think it's wrong of Brock Lesnar to have the title.

Hey maybe Dwayne Johnson will come in and challenge Lesner for the belt with a couple matches under his belt of course...

:lol:lol very good point there, i mean he's popular give him a couple million let him challenge Lesnar for the belt. I wouldn't mind seeing fatass Steven Sugal (i know i mutilated his name) get in there aswell.

I didn't like the idea of Lesner being champ since Randy left the UFC, Nog & Tim Slyvia fought for the Belt, Randy comes back and gets the belt back. Randy should of fought Nog first.

But a Randy vs Nog fight will probably happen next.

Okami has to get a title shot vs Anderson Silva. Probably after the Leites fight, but in between that the Anderson v Liddell fight could happen.

I give Rashad respect. He fought at HW in the TUF series. Dropped these HW's and took some hard shots. He's bascially the complete package, one punch KO power, Good wrestling. I was hoping for him to try to take Forrest down quicker, but he got it done. I'm hoping he dosen't try to be a one punch and done guy. He stood with Forrest and Chuck, when I thought his advantage would be the ground game.

Can't wait for Fedor v Arlovski. Should be a good fight and its a decent card. I always liked Josh Barnett he's fighting Gilbert Yvel. I was hoping the UFC would sign Barnett because I think he beats all the UFC HW's even Lesner.

Alot of fights and cards coming, going to have to pick and choose, too many to buy.

The only problem i have with him being champ is that fact that he had fought only twice in the UFC before his title fight and lost one of those fights to Frank Mir. I think that after his fight with Heath Herring, he should have fought Gabriel Gonzaga. I think Gabriel Gonzaga is the perfect matchup for Lesnar since Gonzaga has a great ground game and standup.

i suspect this is all because of Couture, the time he was out of ufc for the last year was because he asked too much from UFC,he didnt see any point fighting unless it was someone that he saw as a big challenge simply because the clock is ticking for him and he dont want to waste time when he has nothing more to prove.Fedor was one of the reasons he left the ufc,if he didnt get him he would retire and Couture said that himself that that was the last straw.

C`mon, how else can we explain how Brock got a Title fight after just 3 MMA fights overall???Im telling ya,its all because of Couture, and all of you know it.
Who the hell have ever gotten a Title shot after just 3 fights?????

I love Couture though,i mean...who doesnt:)

i like lesner, i got into a argument with some friends at school over who would win out of the two big guys getting pushed in fighting kimbo slice or brock lesner and i said that slice would turn out to be a publicity stunt while lesner would show great potential. which he has, i mean the man is a monster and is improving with every fight, but he should not have gotten a title fight so early. but hey thats why the company that backed kimbo is bankrupt and the ufc is doing fine:rotfl

I would beleive that. i mean COuture is a fighter, Evryone though Gabriel Gonzaga was going to kick his ass just like Tim Sylvia. I think this time though Couture bit of too much than he could chew with LEsnar. I mean i saw a interview where LEsnar said he walked around at 300 pounds apposed to Couture's normal 220-240. I mean LEsnar could fight in Super Heavyweight.

Until Fedor joins the UFC their heavyweight division is suspect. :lecture

Is Fedor fighting Arlovsky afterall? If so, when?
