Main Event is kinda hard to judge. But the 3rd round is definitely Machidas.

So they gave it to Rampage. That was a hard fight to judge. Machida should have done more but the problem is they both are counter fighters.

meh, Hughes wasnt really in the running for another title shot unless he could have taken out Penn and Fitch or Shields. A fight against Shields would be worse than Fitch cause Shields has much better lay and pray than Fitch. If Penn can beat Fitch and Shields, then he might deserve another shot against GSP, but again, i wouldnt mind seeing Penn getting outclassed by GSP for a 3rd time in a row.

And why is that bad news? I think Penn has a legitimate shot at beating Fitch. Fitch isnt exactly known to knock out guys, but it will be a grind of a fight that's for sure.

I agree. Penn looked awkward as hell in the 2 fights. Not sure why though. I was looking for him to beat up Edgar like he did Sanchez but nope.

Fitch is a grinder which isnt a good thing for Penn. And like you said, he isnt going to KO Penn. If the match is true, BJ better start working on his cardio alot more cause he is going to need it.

So if the match happens and when BJ wins... does that make him the #1 contender ...one of the #1 contenders?

Well Rampage was the one attacking and Machida was the one invading. In the 2 judges eyes that was what won the fight for Rampage. If Machida could have taken Rampage down in the 1st or 2nd round and kept active, then he would have won no problem.

Fight of the night for me was definetly George and Joe, that fight was awesome. Overall I was actually impressed with the nights fights.
If anything the only fight I question as to not being that exciting was the main event. I thought Quinton had good cage control and tried to be the aggressor, but fighting Machida isnt easy and his style to counter and move is hard to do that against.
I didnt try and score the fight myself, but after rnd 3, i figured the judges were going to give it to Machida so seeing Quinton and his reactions, I was actually surprised myself to see that he won.

Rd1 nothing much happened both held the other against the cage and machida landed some nice shots(mostly leg kicks)

Rd2 Rampage won.

Rd3 Machida won easily.
