Well he did pretty great in TUF, but I knew he'd probably have a harder time against some experienced fighters unless he made some improvements in his skillset which, sadly still seems extremely limited. He just runs forward like an uncoordinated idiot, throws some weak punches, and shoots for a takedown to setup his guillotine.

Yeah he looked so menacing in the second round once his ponytail got all messed up. I really think they should allow hair pulling in MMA. Sure it'll look like girls fighting, but in a street fight I'm sure someone would do it if the opportunity behooved them.

yeah kinda figured it was going to happen with all the stories of fighters getting stiffed and Dream canceling a lot of shows. If anything I think its more sad that K1 will be gone. I love MMA, but K1 was pretty much the top dog with it came to modified Muay Thai. Its the biggest kick boxing tourney around.

Its the Yakuza, there's a really good book about the Yakuza and the fall of PRIDE, forget what its called. I think the guy who wrote it got killed, something like that. Its out there.

Not sure if Yakuza is behind this... rather than the decline of Japanese MMA in Japan no less. As for Pride, Yakuza was calling major shots when it came to pay days and trying to make guys drop fights. If you ever seen the Shooto fight with Enson Inoue vs a young Randy Couture, at the end of the bout, Enson addresses the Yakuza because in its early days and actually probably still today Yakuza was heavily involved with Shooto as well.

Well here's the thing, the Yakuza was allegedly involved with DSE and FEG is essentially the same people who ran PRIDE. So it's not a stretch to assume they were all still involved with each other when the new promotion jumped off. So iunno.. but A LOT of JMMA stars are suddenly bouncing to the states.

Well at the same time with that, Yakuza had deals with Skyperfect tv as well. Which is why the one guy killed himself after everything came out in the open.

I was hoping the UFC would keep PRIDE alive when they bought it. Here's a quote from Dana about the situation.

“We had plans for Pride, we were going to do Japanese shows, but the mafia runs that place and it is very hard to do business over there,” White was quoted by Fighters only magazine. “That basically killed the brand.”
