As a Mir ****-hugger, I'm happy that he won. However, I wasn't extremely impressed with his performance(save for the first round where he REALLY tried to put Nelson away).

Wonder what's next for him...

He dominated in the standup the entire fight, he dominated on the ground the entire fight, he won, he flexed his muscles at you... what else could you want from him?:dunno

Rampage vs. Hamill
Rampage Wins - Decision (Unanimous)

Sorry but Jon Jones would murder Rampage.

Horrible Main Event.

Pretty much, Ramp just isn't versatile enough to handle what Jones brings to the table, well nobody really is in that division imo, except for maybe Machida when he's on his game. I thought Hamill would have brought it more, but after he took some good shots and felt the power of Ramp, he seemed very hesitant at times. Boring card overall for me.

Story pretty much won his fight by putting Alves up against the cage for 2 rds, that's not gonna work against the top guys. Might as well just give him Shields next...........

I was suprised Mir handled him so easily in taking him down. Nelson won't ever get to the top of that division if he doesn't get on a serious diet, he was gassed at the end of the 1st.

I cant stand that method of fighting. Its what killed TUF this season for me... among other things.

UFC 130 Total Attendance: 12,816
Total gate: $2,570,000

Funny how a UFC event that has no real main event still makes more money than every other MMA promotion out there. UFC 130 made more money just off the live gate than the last two Strikeforce cards combined.

And even with the horrible PPV buy rates (which I think will be LOW, like under 200K low) they'll still make another 5 million or so after the PPV provider takes their cut.

:lol:lol:lol

To finish?
:dunno

Mir was gassed VERY early and looked strangely similar to the Mir that got kneed into oblivion against Vera.

Mir kept his hands low for the 2nd and 3rd round, and was pretty sloppy after round 1. The takedowns came easy against a coma-induced Roy Nelson. He was dead on his feet after round 1 and STILL caught Mir on the chin a few times. Were it any other fighter, with...you know...stamina, Mir wouldn't even be waking up until right about now.

Hamill wanted Rampage?Sure didn't look like it:slap

Well he definitely didnt want his punches and knees.

Thats damn good. :clap Even when UFC does its worst, it beats other organizations in revenue.

I wonder how long before Strikeforce is absorbed by the UFC. I know Dana said that they'd like to keep it as a separate entity.

It's already starting, kinda. From what I understand the UFC has already canned the entire staff over at Strikeforce. The only original SF staffer is Coker the Hutt. :wink1:

Now the UFC is handling everything (promotion, booking/match making, etc.) so that change has already started. I think they're gonna try and double dip and hope that UFC fans will support SF that way Zuffa can make double the profits. Only problem is, it didn't work with the WEC which is way that promotion folded. And IMO it's not going to work with Strikeforce.

So I think sometime in 2012 you'll see the UFC absorb that entire promotion. But who knows. Maybe SF will take off. It all depends on how viable that promotion is with PPV. That seemed like the deal breaker for the WEC; they came up short on PPV.

Mir did an excellent job. Nelson will always be a joke to me. The HW division will always have guys that are flabby, but at least 99% of the guys in the class look like they trained for the fight. Nelson looks like some dude they picked up from a Wal-Mart parking lot that have the McDonald's restaurants in the entrance.

Yeah its funny cause I actually like Roy, but last night it was definetly not is night. Like Dana said, its funny to make fat jokes but if you plan on being here and making an impact hes gotta lose weight and drop down to lt heavy. Hes not going to make it at heavy.

Coker the Hutt can always carry Dana's bags or supply him with Twi'lek Slaves. *Jabba laugh*

Sucks for all the butt hurt UFC haters. :wave

How is Bellator doing these days? I havent watched one of their fights in awhile since I usually miss them.

I think the cure for insomnia is watching Rampage fight.

hahaha I did get sleepy during the fght.

Does the Total attendence = paid???? I heard ticket sales were low for this event, in the 5,000, a Dave Metzer article.

Although the bar by me has all the UFC's, $10 cover, and its always packed beyond belief. They gotta make a killing showing the PPV's.

Total attendance just means how many people were there with a ticket that got scanned. But A LOT of tickets for events get comped. Either for friends/family and also to fill out seats for televised events (so the stands don't look empty). Paid attendance is actual tickets purchased.

So that 12,816 attendance number doesn't mean all those people paid. The official paid attendance number will be released in a couple days but regardless, they made $2,570,000 for the live gate. That's why low ticket sales don't really affect the UFC since their tickets are expensive.

For instance Strikeforce; they had a bigger attendance for Gina Carano vs. Cris Cyborg (13,976) but the total gate for that event was only $736,000. And Fedor vs. Silva + Fedor vs. Werdum (11,287 and 11,757 respectively) only made a little over a million dollars each for their live gates.

UFC 130, as big of a dud as it was, made more money than all of those. And again, that's not including PPV money.
