Yeah im actually going to the Bellator June 25th show since its close by. About a 4 hr drive for me, plus my birthday is on the 27th and the wife bought tickets so regardless of whose fighting should be a fun weekend if anything.

Although the bar by me has all the UFC's, $10 cover, and its always packed beyond belief. They gotta make a killing showing the PPV's.

Maybe. The manager at Hooters told me they have to pay a couple hundred dollars just to show the fight so if there's nobody there to watch it I guess they could actually lose money (if what he said is actually true).

Man, after reading all of you guy's comments I'm sure glad I skipped out on getting this last PPV. I like Rampage, but seriously doubt he'll ever get another title shot (I think Evans was right when he said about him being Mr. Hollywood and not taking fighting seriously anymore), and Hammil needs to beat a top notch fighter (and not by some BS mercy DQ) or get out. He's a damn tough kid, but nowhere near a threat to anyone within title contention in LHW. Not a very good main event.

Yeah, it is true that bars have to pay a higher fee to show any UFC/boxing/NFL Sunday Ticket PPV type events.

Yep, it sucks too. My Uncle owns a Sports Bar in SF, and I told him he should get the fights, but they have to pay a lot of money to get them, depending on how many ppl come to see them.

Don't doubt too much. :lol

According to Dana White If Rampage's hand injury isn't serious he's getting the next shot at Jones. The only change will be if his hand injury IS serious (enough to keep him out awhile) then Machida will get the nod instead.

Depending on the place, they usually go in on a package. I usually go to Champps, Im a regular there and I know the GM and they always come to ask me what I think the event will do and well I told them unfortunately this was a so-so card and it definetly showed. Im a little biased because I show up for every UFC, but it seriously was dead. The only other event that i seen was that dead was when WEC did there PPV. There was literally me and like 2 other tables there to watch the fights. They usually charge a $5 cover, but considering most charge more its not a bad deal. Its funny though because like I said being that there was hardly anyone there for this PPV the GM was like "i should get a refund for this card"

well I should push my Uncle to do a cover charge for some good fights I guess, cause his bar never has a cover charge and they used to have Wii Wednesdays over there. He's just not a fighting fan so he doesn't really care too much.

But how the hell does Machida get a title shot after a win over Couture? :cuckoo:. I know he has the talent, but I wish the UFC was better with giving guys title shots that actually deserve them. Machida beat a guy he should have and lost 2 fights before that. Too many injuries I guess, but he doesn't deserve one.

Really there just isnt many Light Heavies that are heading to a championship fight and most are injured or once they actually fight will be injured. I think the UFC is just running out of options in there mind and giving it to whoever pulls off a win and is actually healthy enough to carry on a fight. Plus they kill 2 birds with one stone because even if the challenger loses they cant say they didnt get there shot at the belt and Dana is covered.

Wow! The match making in the UFC is completely asinine at times. Based off of those two's last fights, Jones should crush Rampage. BUT, that's what everyone said about GSP with Serra the first time. Who knows? Just glad it's not me, I'd rather watch :D

unfortunately the 205 division is screwy. most guys dont have a string of wins or good fights to put up a case for a title shot. The only ones are Rashad and maybe Phil Davis... but his last fight showed truly how unprepared he is for a title shot.

Well with Quinton and his hand all jacked, Lyoto will go at it with Jones and personally I think Lyoto has a better chance at beating Jones than Quinton does. Quinton still doesnt know how to check kicks and Jon would take advantage of that quickly followed up with crazy spinning ninja elbows. I like Quinton but I almost dare to say hes just one dimensional. Even Joe Rogan was saying during his fight with Hamil that he wishes he would switch up some things and throw some kicks. His punching has become to predictable.

i know that...my point was that this is nothing new. rampage has been this way since he's been in the ufc. gone are the days of him power slamming people through the floor.

Would much rather see Machida/Jones over Ramp. Hopefully he's back on track with his swagger in tow after that awesome crane kick on captain america.

Rampage is a boring fighter, he only throws hooks and uppercuts. Jones would crush the much slower very predictable Rampage. Machida is the best option just cause the style both him and Jones have makes a good matchup. Jones will beat either one IMO though.

Jones would have to be very careful with a counter striker like Machida. He really takes it to his opponents, and that would play into Machida's style. But I agree, would still pick Jones to win.

i agree. Both fighters have unorthodox style. If Anderson Silva lay off the whole we are freinds thing, I would love to see Jones fight him too.

GSP vs. Nick Diaz is set for UFC 137 Oct. 29 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. According to Cesar Gracie, Nick signed a multi-fight, multi-year contract with the UFC.
