If you tap from strikes, you're a little ^^^^^, thats what i think.

George...it aint about hard you can hit, it's how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward...how much you can take and keep moving forward.

All these fighters saying gsp this, gsp that, that he's going to run right through me...gtfo here.

All the acolades, all the achievements, it's all going to end with one big right hand.

If fitch reminded him of the terminator, i'm going to remind him like god.

Look at my fights, have you ever seen me tap, or give up in any of my fights?

Gsp will tap.

Gsp will never be a real fighter, he's just an athlete...i mean when i look at all these guys, i think to myself, they're not fighters, they're just athletes.

Don't piss my off george, don't piss me off.

Does he realize huh? Does he realize whats going to happen to him?

To the death georges, to death, i'm going to try to kill you and i'm not joking about this.

He's not going to be looking happy when i'm sitting on him and reigning down elbows, when i'm looking deeply into his eyes, and seeing the fear in him.

It's a shame really, B.J. Penn is one of the most naturally gifted MMA fighter's to ever enter the octagon but as a human being he's a total POS. Absolutely no class or character whatsoever. He talks about being a man, then doesn't even have the courage to face the music at the post fighter conference. Instead he send's his brother to tell Dana he's not coming. Then he hops in a car and heads over to the nearest McDonald's to stuff his face .

He talks about about GSP being a quitter then he pulls the "no mas routine".
And for anyone thinks it was his brother that called it off and not B.J. give your head a shake. "No mas" was asked several times about continuing and what was his response...."I want the doctor to look at me". Twice he said that, and what that actually translates into is this...."I'm getting the living ^^^^^ knocked out of me and 5 more minutes of this and I'll wind up in the hospital....so get me the hell out of this mess!" Newsflash, there isn't a trainer in the world who isn't going to throw in the towel when that's the response his fighter gives and B.J. knows it. If Penn really wanted to keep going then where was his outrage or indignation that the fight was over? The guy hung his head and didn't say a word...not to the doctor, not the his brother, not to anyone...he just stood there silently.

And now we find out he can't even lose like a man. This whole Vaseline controversy is a joke and he knows it. You don't need Vaseline to be slippery. All you need is one good hard fought round and the bodies naturally occuring sweat will take care of the rest. Yes, GSP's cornerman rubbed his back...after rubbing Vaseline on his face, chest and shoulder's. Does anyone really believe there was any Vaseline still on his hand after that? And if there was, it was promptly taken care of buy the NSAC rep before the 2nd round started...so please , enough with the Vaseline excuses.

Penn lost for three reasons and three reason's only. His lack of a gameplan, unless his plan was to have GSP punch him in the face until he exhausted himself. His poor conditioning...he was spent after the 2nd round and in a 5 round fight that's a recipe for disaster. And thirdly, he's just not a good as GSP, and after the beating he took that's pretty well obvious for anyone with two eyes in their head.

There is no doubt B.J. Penn is a great fighter and a certain Hall of Famer...the question is, when will he start conducting himself like a true champion? Couture never conducted himself in this manner, and you'll never see GSP, Fedor or Silva conduct themselves this way either. The saddest part is that he doesn't have behave like trailer trash...though it does appear this is where he feels most comfortable.

Lube? WTF!!!! Daaamnnn BJ, just take your loss like a man!!!! He was getting dominated in his own game which is the standup, he oughtta be thankfful GSP took him down and pounded him out otherwise it would of been a toe to toe beatdown like he handed to Fitch...

Penn is effing crybaby, take your loss like a man, vaseline didnt cuase those jabs to hit you square in the face...

100% Agree. The whole Vaseline "incident" is a joke. I wasn't aware that a little bit of Vaseline on your shoulders and back allows you to take someone down at will, pass their guard like they're a whitebelt and then beat their face in. Good to know. Vaseline = Better than roids/HGH!!!!!

There's been 2 incidents with greasing I'm aware of, where the fight was ruled a NC and those involved Guillard vs. Huerta and Akiyama vs. Sakuraba. And in BOTH of those fights, the fighters busted (Guillard and Akiyama) were greasing up their LEGS to avoid being taken down. NOT their backs and shoulders with small amounts of Vaseline. And in both fights, the opposing fighters (Saku and Huerta) complained that their opponents were "slippery". So it really is just a last ditch effort for Penn to save face. Pathetic.

Of course i wouldnt expect gsp fans to see this with a level head. In my opinion, the commission felt the vaseline to be significant enough to step into the ring between rounds, what does that say?

2nd point, if it really is such a 'joke' then why even do anything like this that would bring up question? 99.9% of the cornermen that ive watched don't put vaseline on the fighter then immediately go to rub his shoulders, chest, and back. so why is that?

It's my opinion that if this indeed was a tactic by gsp's camp, they obviously knew that with their gameplan, which was for gsp to be in BJ's guard to tire him and ground and pound...they know BJ is dangerous from guard, and they knew BJ likes to pull high-guard. You can see in the video his high guard slips down with no problems.

Youre right, they are sweaty, but ive grappled enough to know that sweat doesn't mean you can't keep your legs up on your opponent's shoulders without it slipping down like butter.

Truth is, we don't know everything and we don't know how much vaseline was applied. All we know is what the cameras showed us, which is 100% accurate to say that it didnt show us 'everything' that went on.

Im in agreement that the vaseline is NOT why Penn lost the fight. He got dominated. However, the fact is, that even if it was not intentional, why do something like that to leave it up to question?

Don't tell me the guy had no time to think about it. These are professionals and they know the rules down to every last detail.

Huh!? Maybe you're used to some kind of particular "fan" and that's where that comment stems from but that's not me. I'm a FIGHT fan. Not a fan of FIGHTERS. I don't care who loses or who wins. I watch fights (and in general, Sports) because I enjoy doing so. Not because I have a man-crush and root for certain guys. So don't even attempt the biased-fan routine on me, because it's obvious the only biased-fan in here is YOU, for Penn.

So UFC fighters are just like boxers in that they'll bend the rules just enough to win. :lol I enjoy watching UFC from time to time before anyone gets ticked at me.

I never thought BJ would stoop so low to file a complaint on some stupid ^^^^....Isnt he the one who said, to me whoeyer taps out is a BIACH!!! He did nothing to stop his corner from stopping the fight....Making him THE BIACH!!!!

Right, im being biased? I see nothing that ive said as being biased.

How can you be a fan of a sport and not care who wins or who loses? Youve got to be kidding me. The whole meaning of sports is competition, and in competition you either want one person/team to win or one person/team not to.

Your routine of putting words into my mouth and reading between the lines of what i said while at the same time completely avoiding the valid facts of what I really said is getting old.

Right, im being biased? I see nothing that ive said as being biased.

The very first post you made was a list (that wasn't really a list, smh) of excuses followed by "BUT that isnt an excuse". Then what is it!? Why say anything, if not to make excuses? You remind me of people who complain about something, IN DETAIL and then follow it with "but I'm not complaining". :rotfl

You seriously need to put aside some of your "Toy" money and buy a dictionary. That's hands down one of the stupidest things I've ever read on here. "The whole meaning of sports is competition" yes.. when you're COMPETING. I agree.
"and in competition you either want one person/team to win or one person/team not to." Say what!? Not if you're an unbiased spectator and enjoy the SPORT. There's no prerequisite for being a fan. Again, you're grouping everyone into YOUR idea of what a fan is, and that has to do with how YOU are, as a fan. Biased.

You haven't stated any valid facts. You've stated a nice amount of excuses why your idol got his ass whooped though. Must hurt huh?

:lol you should be a defense lawyer, you're quite good at twisting the facts and incorporating enough bull^^^^ to make it seem like you know what youre talking about.

Congrats to GSP! Even tho I was going for Penn, I still give him props for moving up a weight class and fighting the best at that class. The only person I could see beating GSP is Anderson, and the only person I could see beating Anderson is GSP. If GSP wants to claim the best pound for pound fighter he should move up a weight class and fight Anderson. Now that's a dream match. And Penn is no chump, he still is a Champion, he just bit more than he could chew.

Seems like people dont get how hard it is to move up a weight class. Didnt Mickey Hatton move up to fight Hopkins and Hopkins knocked him around the whole fight. They have weight classes for a reason, that said congrats to GSP.

Yeah BJ belongs with the little fellas, like the Stevensons and other little guys of that sort....Stay out of the Big Boys Way....

Even Roy Jones got the ^^^^ beat out of him when he moved up.

And yup, GSP is a specimen of a fighter no doubt.

:lol welterweight is hardly the 'big boys'

Compared to the lightweights it sure is, you saw BJ get manhandled....Besides, im Big Boy...:banghead

depends on your perspective. We have room to call welterweights little guys when talking about middle weights, light-heavyweights and heavyweights too. :google
