WTF!!! Dude, its 2009!!!:banghead Gracie was around when I was 15 years old.... We talkin bout todays fighters....

What's the difference? Gracie is notorious for "holding" and not able to go 'toe to toe' with fighters...

I dont take the trash talking personally, I could give a rats ass about all the trash talking they do to each other....By me saying he's a biznich I meant it in his style of fighting, hes just like Guida, daaamn clowns dont wanna stand toe to toe.....:banghead

I LOVE Guida, he's crazy man, something is all ready wrong with u if u step in the ring with the Clay Guida, maniac on wheels with a oger club!

I liked Guida at first cause he never stops moving forward and has serious stamina, but most of his fights Ive watched I ended up thinking , "Jeez, will this fight ever end?"
Same way watching MexBoxers fight. THey brawl, but the fights never end. THey always go the distance and the repetitiveness gets tiresome to watch ...

i saw one of his fights and i thought he was pretty good, but now i realize that every one of his fight results seems to b by 3 rd decision, but i dont care, he hasnt proven he can beat any of the top lightweights anyways, nate diaz is a decent fighter, but no where near the top tier, but at the same time there arent a lot of fighters in that division that can b considered top tier fighters

BTW anyone know of any good bootleg sites to watch the fights while they are live? I watched the last fight on one (Justin.tv) and it went out in the 3rd round, right before it ended....Argh I hate that! Dang free stuff! :angelsmil

You have to respect the beauty of the sport, like Nash said everyone has strategies and gameplans. Some people are better than other people in different aspects of the game. I don't look for a KO or Submission every fight, yes it's fun to watch that happen but it's also cool to watch Split decisions because it's too really good fighters working to get the upper hand and it almost always comes down to who has the most heart left or if you can capitilaize on a mistake. The Guida vs. Diaz fight might have been boring to you guys but it's just interesting to watch all the different styles, but ultimatly we will just argue over opinions so i have nothing else to say.:D

Read back a few pages, there have been a couple sites mentioned in this thread.

Top UFC welterweight contender Thiago Alves told the Sherdog Radio Network’s “Savage Dog Show” this week that his title fight against Georges St. Pierre is set for UFC 100 in July.

That's one. Expect one more title match + a third big name fight.

Free but I rather watch the simpsons, crap card. You figure they would out a name on it to get some ratings.

Thats the types of Fight I wanna see, nothing but TKO's,KO's and maybe 1 or 2 Submissions, Perfect!!!!! And FREE on top of that.....

Way too early for a fight with GSP, plus is needs to fight some better talent.

Agreed. He needs to fight a few more lower level WW guys like he's been doing and then I say throw him in with a Karo, or Koscheck. That'll give a clearer picture of where he actually stands in the UFC WW division. Up to this point, I wouldn't consider anyone he's fought a Top or even Middle level WW.

Yeah, but the problem is, like I said, his competition hasn't been that spectacular. Any fighter can look like a beast against low level competition. You won't see major holes until he faces better comp. I say major because even with minor competition AJ has shown flaws: suspect cardio, sloppy striking, and a weak ground game. His wrestling is great.. but once he takes someone down he pretty much sucks. His submission game is non-existent. So only time will tell if he's a serious contender or just another flash in the pan that performs well against lesser skilled opponents but looks downright terrible against the upper echelon on the weight division.
