Yeah I gotta say Im a fan of Lombard, but Im not sure what happened there. Im not one to say a fight is boring usually...but damn that was a boring fight. Really disappointed in Hector, he better do something spectacular next time to make up for that horrible debut.

As for Urijah and Renen, I knew the outcome of that fight long ago.
It was basically Faber vs Aldo II.

Lombard knew Tim's plan was to gas him so he paced himself..He did not pace himself correctly though and his inactivity cost him DEARLY

Yeah i can agree with that. I was thinking he was being cautious but damn he didnt engage or anything. Its like he was hoping to get into an exchange with Tim and since he didnt and Tim threw more leg kicks Lombard didnt have an answer and his hesitation cost him.

Overall enjoyed the prelims quite a bit more, maybe they should start giving the main events on free TV and make the prelims the PPV.

And Lombards a tough dude, but it was nice to see him walk in with an "L", maybe he'll back off on the crazy juice a little.

I dont really think he could do anything even out of desperation. He was already starting to limp. Regardless hes still a favorite of mine.

UFC 150 Henderson v Edgar II....another rematch for Edgar. I need to start watching Bellator or some other MMA. UFC is garbage, wish they'd go back to 1 Event every 3 months with stacked cards. Nice to hear Dana admitt UFC 149 sucked. Hendo v Jones n Cain v JDS are the only other fights I have interest in. Sucks.

There are simply not enough elite fighters signed to allow for so many UFC events per year. And even the "elite" fighters are putting on garbage performances..MMA is inherently just not as exciting to watch as combat sport sports like K-1 and boxing because of the grappling element which inevitably leads to lengthy clinching and dry humping

I think its more like at this level guys just cancel each other out. Wheather it be striking or grappling, then at the same time no one wants to commit and do something dumb that could cost them the fight. The submission game isnt what it used to be, everyone knows how to stop them more or less. I mean once your caught in one thats different, but most people now days know enough to stay out of them so that basically turns the ground game into a wrestling match which yes leads to 2 guys just laying on each other basically.

As for strikers you either have 2 guys who dont want to commit and nothing really happens or 2 guys that brawl it out to a decision. The sport has changed simple as that. Fighters are bigger stronger, and more educated now.

Looks like Mir is going to Strikeforce for 1 fight to meet Cormier in the co-main event of September's Strikeforce: Melendez vs. Healy fight card, on the 29th.

Mir is a glutton for beatdowns.

Anyone watch the free live stream of Invicta FC2 last night. The all womens organization. I have to say another great event. I mean its the women, but its entertaining. I think you can catch the fights on youtube as well if your actually interested. Not the highest level competition but there are some decent fights.

Mir vs DC is cool, but as a one time event type of fiight I'd rather have seen Lesnar vs DC. It would have been a big draw and it's a fight that's mostly meaningless. It would have been perfect.
