Ali was a great boxer all around "fighting" are 2 different things. Boxing is only one element of the fight game. He maybe was the best boxer, but not overall fighter imo.

Agreed, but I can't hold that against him that he wasn't a MMA fighter. Back in his day boxing was taken much more serious and the fights were longer and much more brutal.






Silva is the MMA GOAT though.

Ali in his prime would get worked badly in a fight, not a boxing match, a fight. Anyone can get one punched KO'd of course, but skills wise, no boxer stands a chance in an all out fight against top MMA guys.

Sugar Ray Robinson is P4P best boxer ever.

Anderson is for MMA, but alot of the MMA guys are way over-rated. The sport is still growing. I'd like to see Anderson fight Jones.

Sugar Ray Robinson IS P4P the best boxer ever.. but Ali is hands down the best HW fighter of all time. He's the only HW to ever defeat every single top HW of his era in their prime. Not some. Every single one. Which is also why he's the only HW to ever be lineal HW champion on 3 separate occasions.

Robinson was great, but for me it's Ali. Didn't likenthe man outside then ring but inside.....he was just so damn impressive and the man fought in some wars. It's sad to look back and compare boxing then to now.

I could usually care less about people whining for crossover matches, but this is one I think they need. The only reason is because if they don't match these two against one another before Anderson retires, MMAth nerds will be arguing for years who was P4P GOAT.

Modern MMA has only been around since 1993. Trust me, in 10 years there will be a whole new crop of fighters in the running for that title and no one will even mention Anderson Silva or Jon Jones just like no one mentions Royce Gracie or Matt Hughes now.

Yeah Anthony pretty much murdered DJ Linderman, lol. Torres looked heavy to me. He looked like he gained some weight, it was a good fight regardless. Yeah so far so good. Cool to see a new event on TV. Im already looking forward to the next event. I hope they do so we do actually see more from them.
