Yeah I think Dana wants to make his money off of GSP just incase the what if factor of Hendricks comes true. Say Hendricks were to win, he knows he wont be able to market him like he does George. That guy is a fan/PR machine. A company champion for sure. At this point Id rather see Hendricks fight then give Diaz a shot. I just think its funny how George really let Nick get under his skin. Regardless those are both 2 fights I want to see happen for sure.

But you know what would sell really good is a rematch of Hendricks versus GSP if Hendricks won the first fight of course. If Hendricks beats GSP it would probably be via KO, who won't tune in to see that possibly happen again. :lol

So 3 tries later Diaz finally made weight.

I forsee Diaz spending most of the night on his back. I think the end of Penn will be tonight too unless he gets a flash KO ala Hughes.

Rousey vs. Carmouche is the main event for UFC 157. The co-main event is Machida vs. Hendo.

if Ronda wasn't so sexy, I doubt this would've been a main event. . . people either love her or hate her.

why is Penn still even stepping into the octagon?
Im a fan, but he hasnt taken training for a fight seriously in years... :monkey1

Diaz and Penn got DOMINATED from start to finish. Good night of fights. Still laughing about Bellator/Spike TV promos during the UFC broadcast. :lol

That might've been the best card ever. Over 5 hrs of good fights. It was nice to see Diaz get the biggest beat down of his career, too bad he didn't get finished. I didn't feel too impressed with macdonalds performance, he had a tko stoppage right in front of him and didn't go for it.

I actually like the Diaz brothers, but one thing I'll say for sure is as long as your moving around their "great" striking is pretty much shut down. It only works when you basically stand in front of them and trade. A great night of fights over all.

Benson shut down Nate's boxing with a combination of leg kicks/wrestling. But you're right.

I was wondering if it was a technical issue, apparantly not

:lol:lol:lol

I was wondering about that.

Yeah I mean thats how Carlos beat Nick, and how Benson beat Nate. Movement is the Diaz bros worst enemy. Its a shame because I like there in your face style but again it doesnt work so well when the opponent doesnt let them. Then its like they dont know what to do.

As for the middle fingers I thought that was interesting because I knew something would come of it. I kept noticing them cutting away or they had to bleep the corners from cursing.

Im not so sure if that is a reason why the sport wont be taken seriously rather than it really isnt a "family friendly" type sport. Remember it is a fight, its not like a bunch of guys throwing a ball around and everyones ok with whatever happens on the field. If anything, just fine the guys and move on.

Its not that big of a deal. People look at cursing and flipping the bird then they see a fight and more than likely it seems like something you would see in the street not something the family gathers around the tv for on a Sunday afternoon like a football/baseball game. Fighting is gritty and while I dont agree with the flipping the bird on national TV if thats something people cant handle then they probably werent the intended demographic and should stick to the more family friendly sports.
