I think in the inevitable rematch Jons will have a new game plan and it won't be near the fight we just saw. Regardless I'm a fan of Gus now.

That goes for both sides. Both of them learned from this fight and i am sure it will be another war during rematch....which possibly will take place in Sweden.

Pretty much every MMA media outlet scored the fight for Jones (just like the judges):

Fightmetric
Sherdog
Bloodyelbow
BJpenn.com
MMA Junkie
MMAmania
MMA Weekly
MMAfighting
Yahoo Sports
FOX Sports
MMA Kanvas
Cagepotato
MMA Torch
Bleecher Report
Fighters.com
MMA Frenzy
5th Round

The only two that didn't were Sports Illustrated (Draw) and Pro MMA Now (Gus). I had it 48-47 Jones.

Exactly, people keep saying Gus won. Jones landed more strikes and had a better striking percentage. In no way am I not giving Gus credit. He made Jones seem like an average fighter. But, I'm the end, Jones was able to so enough to get the W.

Yeah that's the other thing, according to FightMetric Jones had more significant strikes/total strikes. The only stats Gus won out on was jabs to the head and body. But power shots to the head and body and especially leg strikes (power and minor kicks) were all dominated by Jones. Not to mention Jones was the only one who did any serious damage when he rocked Gus in the 4th with that spinning elbow that turned Gus into a walking zombie.

Pretty clear cut victory for Jones.

I had Gus won 3 rounds out of 5. He should have won by slight margin or maybe even a draw.

Everything points to Gus losing. It was close, but with everything considered, there isn't much of an argument to be made for him winning.

Exactly, I think people are saying Gus won because we're so use to Bones dominating his fight. Every fighter bleeds, and has his weaknesses. With that said, glad to see the heart of Bones while getting the win

Glover is next..

LAS VEGAS -- UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones' next title defense will come against No. 1 contender Glover Teixeira, likely on Feb. 1 in Newark, N.J.

UFC president Dana White confirmed Jones' next opponent to ESPN.com on Wednesday. According to White, Jones personally requested to fight Teixeira next.

"That's what the champ wants," White said. "We'll probably have that fight on the Super Bowl card in New Jersey."

As much as I like Glover, Jones will either sub him, or just plainly dominate him for 5 rounds.

Yeah I think Glover is a good striker, but I think what made Alexander so dangerous was the reach and that's something Glover doesn't have. Im not saying he doesn't have a punchers chance, but after Alexander I think Jon is going to be on a mission to make the next guy think twice. I'll still be hoping Glover connects ;D

anyone watch UFC last night?

Palhares is hanging in there.

Wow, it just keeps going down for Palhares.
He won by submission but didn't receive sub of the night because he held the submission after the ref stopped it.
Now, Dana says that Palhares has been banned from the UFC

Ehh...thats what he gets. That dudes in another world. He needs to realize when the ref is trying to pull him off the guy he needs to let go.

He's iunno.. kinda slow perhaps? :lol

I just crack up that he purposely tries to injure other fighters and then talks about Jesus in the post-fight interviews. Yeah.. :lol

Funniest moment last night for me was when DHK KO'ed Silva and in the slo-mo replay you could see Joe Silva going nuts with excitement about it. That dude LOVES his job! :lol
