On another note: I finally tracked down a bootleg Android Hunter figure this month... $51 on eBay, can-you-belive-it. Once I get my Batty "Android" head back from being painted by Customikey, I'll be all set! :D

Did you get yours from the seller Android Hunter? I just bought one off of him for $52, but had seen that he sold one earlier for $51. I can't wait to get mine!

Yup, that's the guy! He wasn't the fastest shipper or e-mailer, but I got him in nice shape and haven't been happier.

Now that I think about it, I believe the Batty heads were a very limited run and aren't available any more.

Oh Jeez, I haven't looked at this page in years - bad paint and bad photography - but there's Batty on the bottom of the page.

Cool! Love the two Connerys! Batty looks good but he remindes me of an another android -- Brent Spiner.

Yep, still waiting on mine. BTW did yours come with the original head as well as the improved version? I forgot to ask the seller when I got mine. :monkey3

Yes. I got mine through his eBay auction and the head was mentioned in the ad. It was a great trip down memory lane. I had the V.1 Android Hunter back in early 2000 and thought it was so cool! Now looking at the V.1 head... Ugh. I'm so glad I sold my V.1 in 2001 (on news of the V.3 coming out) on eBay for $160.

Cool, glad to hear it. I saw the V1 when I was in Japan in a retail shop and it was $100... I wanted it, but the headsculpt just made it impossible to get. The V3 seems to be much better. BTW have you seen the CRM toys version... it really just doesn't look that good; the clothing and headsculpt just don't seem to work... not to mention the pice tag :google

OMG! That made me laugh. It looks like Pierce Brosnan from his Remmington Steel days.

I will say the tie is better.

Ouch, what a price!

Good call on the Remmington Steel:rotfl

I knew he looked like someone, just not Harrison Ford. Sad thing is that's the same company that made the Jack Torrance (The Shining) and Alex (Clockwork Orange) figures... I guess not all of them can be winners.

I think the worst part is the clothes are so oversized he looks like a kid wearing them :monkey2

Loved the movie, hated the soudtrack!

Wasn't it an instrumental one by Vangelis? I remember liking it, although it seemed be more of a mood setter than anything else. Certainly better than the Tangerine Dream (more like nightmare) from Legend :yuck

Love the move, love the soundtrack. Does that really surprise anyone? I just listened to it two days ago. It's a very ambient listening experience. I have it on vinyl and three different versions on CD. I think I have a copy on cassette kicking around somewhere, too.

Wow... I never heard anyone ever say that. :monkey4 :monkey4 :monkey4

Are you referring to the VO or the classic Vangelis score? I thought Vangelis did for Blade Runner what John Williams did for Star Wars... helped elevate the emotional intensity of the film at partically EVERY frame.

And I'm truly surprised at the level of support the exorcised VO is getting in this thread. I HATED it when I saw it in theaters... as did many of my peers. Even Harrison Ford was quoted to saying that he hated doing it! The director's cut may not have been perfect, but it didn't have Ford's godawful droning vocals destroying the mood. Geez, it's amazing what a little time can do to change public opinion.

I truly think Jar Jar has a shot at becoming a well-loved character in my lifetime.

But that is just my opinion. :monkey3 :monkey3 :monkey3

I totally agree. I can listen to any track and know what scene it's from.

Ford said that he hated the idea of having to go back and record the VO so much, he intentionally tried to sound bored. Then again, his whole experience making the movie sounded pretty bad.

Here's the BBC interview I mentioned earlier where he talks about it. Even he didn't like the idea of Deckard being a replicant.

I also agree about Jar Jar! :lol

I agree about Jar Jar.

Still (im)patiently awaiting my Android Hunter from eBay, but ran across this custom redo and I have to say I wish the final product looked like this:

LOVE "Blade Runner", I saw in theaters in 1982 (and I even remember with whom I saw it with and unfortunately he didn't appreciate the movie the way I did! :D ), LOVE the soundtrack, and currently only have the movie on laser disc (yes, I am that old and feeling even OLDER thinking that next year is the movie's 25th anniversary!) I will SO be at the theater when this is re-released. :chew

This always makes me cry: "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die." :monkey2

Loved the movie!!!

Loved the soundtrack!!!

Hated the V.O. (so much so that I can't make it through the entire theatrical cut. the Directors cut is just LIGHT YEARS beyond it..)

And i disagree on Jar Jar...

I dare almost to say that the soundtrack is even better than the movie: press play, close you eyes, and... you are there! You're IN the movie! There is no other soundtrack on this planet that can do the same for me.

Love the movie, love the soundtrack, love the VO, love the book (which has a fantastic tilte btw - Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?- I mean, think about it...), and... Deckard is NOT a replicant.

Since I love to bring up the Belgian artist Moebius from time to time, this is a good time. Moebius also worked on Blade Runner. He did some of the product design, and besides that, Ridley Scott used a Moebius comic ( "The Long Tomorrow" ) for inspiration. Moebius rocks!
