Don't know how some of you guys handle it. I would have a heart attack if I keep getting defects. Good thing I don't order much.

Saw this in Forbidden Planet's shop window this evening... looks fantastic! Well done, those who bought, chose wisely.

What a joke of an email that is. Well mine has a paint chip. That better quailifies me for something. :thud:

Depends on the size and extent of the chip..like the Sideshow representative says: every single statue has slight imperfections you will never get one that is 100% mint

same problem with Upper chest also. Now i m thinking this kind of work really worth 325$ Statue+80$shipping+87$Customs=492$....??
:gah:

You will also need to pay to repaint the statue..I'm sure you'll be able to find a talented painter in India to avoid paying customs...if you really like Ultron its worth the price :|

Thank you for taking the time to contact our Customer Service Department.

I wanted to follow up with you regarding your Exclusive Great Ultron Premium Format figure. Please know these items are completely hand made. This means the statue is hand sculpted, the cloth is hand sewn, and the finish is hand painted. As a result, you may see minor imperfections on every statue. These imperfections are normal and do not qualify you for an exchange.

If you are unhappy with your item, please let me know and I can assist you with a refund. As always, please do not hesitate to let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.

Best regards,

Jaclyn Yudkowsky
Customer Service Representative

They can't send you just a replacement body. Each statue is individually matched to a base so it would have to be an entire piece - statue and base.

But in fact their own product warranty DOES qualify you for an exchange, so that email is BS. The only reason to offer a refund is if they have no more replacements to supply.

Yah slight imperfection my @ss. A paint chip or flake does not fall under that category.

With the growing QC issues these days, I gotta learn how to paint...ASAP!! :gah: :(

It always amuses me when Customer Service reps repeatedly give out a monotonous reply! But then, thats what they are paid for!

Cheers,
Neo.

i was just browsing and found this post from a while back about gentle giant, think it's very appropriate. Sideshow is headed down the exact same path.

Once the brand falls out of favor and collectors move on, they will rarely come back.

I was cruising the different forums and thinking back to yesteryear in the golden age of GG. Isn't it ironic that GG used to be one of the hottest names in the business 4 years ago? Heck I was one of the top posters on GGC a few years back...thank god I ducked out when their was still still time. So I'm not here to bash I just want to hear everyone thoughts on the once hottest ticket in SW collectibles.

The rockstar tour, people waiting in lines for exclusive and paying ridiculous amounts for maquettes and busts on ebay is now a thing of the past for GG. It seems their heads got bigger, quality slipped, followed by delays on top of delays.

They fell victim a lot to that, sneak prototype product, quiet for a year, then inferior product finally ships a year and a half later. It's amazing you go to GG sections on forums and it's nearly a ghost town.

It's amazing that busts once fetching hundreds can now be bought next to nothing.

I sure hope that is not the case. But oh well, what can we do! Just got to wait for a response.

That's just not true, of course they can replace the body, i got 2 bodies for my gollum pf replacement. They have a separate stock for replacement parts. The only thing i am not sure of is if you need to replace the base, since it has the number on it.

In dhaval's case, i think it's because he's in india they are trying to wiggle out of replacement, since the shipping will be very expensive.

well this is lame at first i couldn't get my statue's lights to turn on now after messing with the button i was able to push it in and it would flicker on and off and maybe stay on for a couple of minutes. now if it stays on it looks really dim, ill take pics later. I've tried calling sideshow 3 times and left messages and sent two emails last week and still haven't gotten response. Guess I'll keep trying to call or email them again idk.

In all the times I've had either a damaged base or body (and there have been many) they've insisted on total replacement. That's going back over 10 years of purchases. However I'm an overseas customer, so it could be that it's their policy for international purchases (too great a risk of an ill-fitting partial replacement perhaps).

I notice that over on SF another buyer has met with the same response when wanting to replace just the base for Ultron:

"Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that a replacement base would be compatible with your original Great Ultron Body. As such, we will need to proceed with a complete exchange."

That's exactly the response I've always encountered. Your experience may be different.

The problem with exchange is that it could be worst then the first one.

I will have them check the base, the rest Im not worried....but then its going to be repainted anyways.
Wishing all of you the best of luck

You mean to say that all 1000 regs and 500 ex statues are matched to their own base?
