Not at all. I've never seen his movies outside of Batman and I liked the Batman trilogy (TDKR, not so much) and he should be hailed as the man who brought Batman out of the near 10 year slump and making him relevant again. It's just that whenever people try to take an existing property that was deemed irrelevant for modern audiences, people would toss his name. I can't tell you how many times I've heard "Nolan should do a Metal Gear movie" and so forth. Heck, even the developers of this game were constantly referring to "a Batman Begins style reboot" when promoting the 2013 game.
Of course, you can see the Nolan inspiration on the 2013 reboot everywhere where they try to make the plot seem "important" with all the speeches about destiny and stuff. I'm gonna make it clear that I don't hate Nolan, that award goes to Michael Bay.
As for the previous Tomb Raider games, I was only a casual fan at best but I've never missed a console release of any TR game. I do find the games you mentioned "boring" as well when I first got into it, and never bothered to finish Anniversary and Underworld because I deemed them to be dull and lacking. Surprisingly, I grew to love them AFTER the reboot. Isn't that crazy? I guess you'll never appreciate something till they're gone.
So to make it clear, I like Nolan, and I liked the 2013 Tomb Raider reboot. It's just that when you try to take an inherently silly source material and sprinkle buckets of grittiness, make it
sooo serious, it could be forgiven that some nerds like myself try to poke fun at it just a bit.
