I'm glad you liked it, Nick!
I only wish I could love it as much, but the over-the-top gore cheapens the experience for me. It just feels like they are pandering to the lowest common denominator, rather than going for an intelligent, character-driven story. I know some disagree, but that doesn't change my opinion.
Of course, I still bought the Blu-ray, being the OCD Wolf Man freak that I am .
It does, doesn't it? The incredible atmosphere of the film would look amazing in B&W. Sure, we can "turn the color down", but that isn't the same as adjusting the palette during the transfer to bring out the full potential of B&W.No Black and White Edition of the film? Universal, Now that hurts.
I feel that B&W is the only thing this package is missing (if you like the movie, that is).
Well Just was able to watch the film for the 1st time last night!
Hats off to Rick Baker, And all who worked on the Special FX for this film!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
At long last! A remake that I truly love!
Perfect casting and I love the twist to the story, Great writing IMO.
The classic will always be my #1 choice but this ones not bad, Not bad at all!
10 for 10 well 9.5 Should have been done in Black and White goodness!
UNIVERSAL IS BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What's the difference between theatrical and unrated?
I couldn't get the unrated version to work on my computer.
I wasn't too crazy about this, but I thought it was a decent modern retelling. The original is very linear and I guess they struggled with what to do with it. I personally would've liked more gypsys. Think drag me to hell and wolfman. Gore was awesome. Fight at the end was a bit cheesy. didn't care for the weird almost sister-in-law love story.
Loved the mental hospital montage scene, though. That ____ was killer.
The alternate endings:
are pretty lame. They are just two variations of The Wolfman killing Gwen. One in which he bites her, and she shoots him, and they lay dying together. The other in which he bites her, she dies, and he stands to face camera with a wince. That's it.
