Thanks Wor-Gar! I've actually got another revision to the HS coming LOL. And I finally got around to starting on the patch on the back pocket.

I'm also looking into making the flashlight functional. I don't like the red and yellow lights inside the helmet so I'm thinking of diverting the current from those down to power the flashlight. Maybe wiring from helmet down into the backpack. That way I can make the little flashlight connect I added on the bottom of the backpack be and actual power connector for the flashlight.

The HS just keeps getting better, tin!
I'm still rooting for updated boots though.

I didn't like how bright the inside helmet lights were either, so I painted over them to bring the light level way down.
It's a clever idea you have about re-routing the wire for the flashlight.

Made a little change to the head. Also not the emblem on the chest plate. It's silver now - but once I put a bronze wash coat on it - should blend in with the armor better.

Perfect! That's what he needed--a shallow channel removed from under the rim of the lid. Now all he needs is go and get pregnant with an alien baby. (uuuggghhh)

Thanks Dr. Bernardi! Yeah it took a lot of back and forth but it was a combination of flattening out the lower lids - and adding more droop to the upper lids. For the lower lids - my mistake was I kept reducing them evenly. What I should have been going for was reduce them in a way that made them look "deflated".

Just amazing work... I missed all of the refinements to the painted head, but what you have now is just awesome.

That little modification has made a big difference, Tinister. I can see even more of Hurt in the sculpt now. I would work on the symmetry of the eyes a little more, and even shave a little bit of the 'meat' off under his chin and jaw. Maybe it's just the photos and lighting, though. Can you post some higher res pics?


He looks just about perfect in these shots.

Thanks Butters! I'll probably revisit the HS one more time before I make the cast this summer. But for now - I want to focus on finishing the few items left to consider Kane complete. There's a handful of tiny details I want to get to before I get busy with work again and have to put Kane on the shelf for a few months til summer

I hope you don't sell it, at least until you use it as a pattern to produce more of them for us! If you sell this one now, you'll be selling the goose before it lays its golden eggs. (and even then, I hope you don't sell it.)

That's the dilemna Anthrapoid. 1) I wasn't expecting to get any offers so soon. Especially not from an unknown FB person. And 2) He wants the original figure. No recast parts, and 3) I don't want to sell until I have a chance to makes casts so I can have parts for you guys.

I offered a reduced price from his offer to sell him a duplicate figure all painted up, weathered, etc. But he came back and offered me even more for the original figure

First, I can't believe you would sell that figure for any price. It's just too cool, and the first one.

Second, it better be a crazy price.

Third, I can't believe you're considering selling it.

Forth, don't.

Fifth, this guy will buy your second, or third, etc. He just WANTS your first. So make more and then sell him your old first one.

Sixth, I have every picture you ever posted on this process if you need your own ref ever. Plus you have this thread as a how-to should you decide to sell.

Seventh, shame on you.

I'm chatting with the guy now. Telling him I never sell the original prototype figures. You're right - I've put so much time and energy into Kane; there's no way I'd sell him. The guy will have to wait for a duplicate or else he will be empty handed.
