Here are movie close-ups of the helmet.

Much better than comparing it to something that's in the background and barely an inch in size. And blurry I might add.

There's a damn good reason why all the other companies look the same.

Because it's accurate.

Justin is right, it took them this long to make the clones, why the odd sculpt? Did they not use this? https://www.sideshowtoy.com/?p=5428

This isn't just a one off sculpt, this will effect all the ROTS clones that use this helmet. So the price it would be to resculpt a better more accurate helmet shouldn't be as bad compared to a sculpt they'll only use once.

man i'm glad i'm not a super-anal SW fan....life would be too stressful. :D

When you buy a Star Wars figure, is your intent to buy a 3 dimensional poseable representation of what was in the Star Wars universe, or are you just buying a toy? That, to me, is the issue concerning accuracy.

:lecture Same here :lol

I don't really see anything wrong except for the small patch of paint they forgot on the helmet.

It looks like the area of the nose is too wide near the brow, and not near wide ENOUGH at the middle, or at the bottom of the nose, which is more than just a paint issue. It is a molding issue.

The little black box area is maybe .0001 in short on both sides and the silver dot is not quite big enough. Is that really enough to get some of you in that much of an uproar? If it does might be time to look into another hobby. :lol

Not a single one of those shots is an actual screen shot of an Utapau clone. We already know that different brigades modified their buckets and in cases like the airborne troopers, have different buckets entirely. And again, if it truly IS an error, it's a minor one. A VERY minor one. I look at the action figure and see an Utapau clone. You guys are being anal retentive about the small things rather than look at it for what it is. A great representation of the subject matter available for a great price.

If those tiny little details bother you THAT much, let's see what you can do. Create a complete trooper yourself and post pics of it. Then offer it for less than $90 to show you can do better...

yr being quite anal too, in the sense that you just cant accept other ppl have diff personal opinions on the figure itself.

Are you serious?

Wow.

All the basic clones who use this helmet are shaped exactly the same in this area.

Besides color, the 501st and the Shocktrooper and the Utapau clone look exactly the same!

You're grasping for straws trying to disprove me while I just keep giving proof that the helmet is wrong.

Thats really not the right way to use the term. Hard Headed or Stubborn would be a better choice.

The thing is some of the shots look very very similar to the helm on the figure. While the ones that show it may be off its by like I said .00001 in something that I think people are just being a smidge too picky over.

No, I'm just waiting for you to show me a screenshot of an Utapau trooper. The fact that you haven't further disproves yours. That's all. Show me one that proves your accusation. Then deal with the fact that regardless, as I've stated since the beginning, it's still minor and you ARE being anal retentive.

I'm just going to bring up a point I made in the TDK thread and leave it at that. Most of these people try to hide their overcriticality behind the guise of being a "fanboy." As I stated in the TDK thread, fanboys are the guys who're picking up this figure with 1/4 of their rent money. Some of you guys are like friggin' Annie Wilkes from Misery.

"You sit there, sculpt and paint until the cacadoodie figure is PERFECT!"

It's not 100% accurate and if that bothers someone I understand their frustration, certainly at that price.

However it looks good to me and I'm quite happy not being able to tell the difference.

Damn how many are they making of this guy? Three days later and the exclusive hasn't sold out. I'm guessing the regular sells out first.

You need to chill out with the sanctimonious rhetoric.

Besides, you're playing straw men if you insist on a screenshot of the Utapau helmet. Everyone and their dog knows that the basic EP3 Clone Trooper helmet design is the exact same between all the variations. Only the paint schemes are different.

Because there will surely be many other EP3 Clones produced it's all the more important that Sideshow gets the helmet sculpt as accurate as possible the first time. It may not be a deal-breaker, but these innaccuracies are unfortunate and I for one hope they fix them.

Sanctimonious rhetoric is picking the hell out of a company about something very minor on the prototype that the "critic" obviously cannot do a better job with at the price range. Besides, I was done with with this part of the topic in my 10:43am post. Please refer back to it.

Very true, like the film clones, the pieces from this figure will be used repeatedly so odds favor that however this figure looks come shipping time, that is how every standard clone will appear, and even the ones like Cody will likely be built up from this base helmet.
