Sanctimonious rhetoric is picking the hell out of a company about something very minor that the "critic" obviously cannot do a better job with at the price range.

Oh, the old "let's see you do better" mantra. Another straw man tactic.

And no, Scarecrow, I'm not going to back-track through previous posts. I already get the point you're trying to make, which is that you think the helmet is just fine for $90. And that's cool. I have no problem with that. But I also have no problem with those who see the inaccuracies pointing them out. Your propensity to jump on people and call them "anal retentive" actually says as much about you as it does them. That's why I recommended that you relax and chill.

Very true, like the film clones, the pieces from this figure will be used repeatedly so odds favor that however this figure looks come shipping time, that is how every standard clone will appear, and even the ones like Cody will likely be built up from this base helmet.

Exactly. So everyone should want it to be as 100% accurate as possible. It's not THAT far off, no... but it's not quite there, either. Heck, it's not even as accurate as Hasbro's 3.75" clone helmet. That should never happen.

I never though I'll say this but I Agree with all the points that you have brought up!!!
I sincerely hope that SS will actually take note of the inaccuracies and revise the helmet sculpt.

Well, I can understand some folks thinking the nitpicking is excessive if you deal with it in terms of this one figure, but you have to expect that this armor is the template for all future EP3 clones, so what may be exceptable on 1 figure should be looked at as whether it'd be exceptable on 4-5 figures, plus with ones like Cody, the variation may even hurt the overall look on the facier helmet designs, we can't tell until it's made. This clone isn't a 1 shot deal, it's the mark for where clones will go. Fortunately the only negative I can see is the slight offness of the helmet, the neck down looks great and I'm still in awe at the weathering, hopefully it comes out that weathered in production, hard to say, some figures have been nicely weathered in protos before and the effect is a bit minimal in production.

Oh, the weathering on this thing (the prototype anyway) is terrific. No qualms there whatsoever. Just count me among those hoping they tweak and fix the helmet sculpt, especially since we've established that it will affect more than just this Utapau Trooper figure. Unless they create a brand-new EP3 Clone Helmet sculpt for future figures, which is highly doubtful.

I wonder if this figure's an Approval Pending just not marked up, maybe because the armor was approved for Kenobi, other than paint, and just the helmet and guns needed to be made.

I think someone posting "this helmet sucks...PASS!" and then not providing a basis for their argument is a bit opaque. I also think the critique is overcritical when people say "It's a poor representation for $100." You trying to hide behind big words and name-calling to pamper a self-richeous ego doesn't really work either. If people are whining about minute inaccuracies, which I never disagreed with, I simply asked for proof that looked better than that I showed, which was the actual screen shot of the Utapau troopers in the background of Sideshow's promo pic. If you're going to be THAT critical about the sculpt, then provide the precise evidence to match. I'm not a "scarecrow" for asking the simple question, "show me?"

I never said either of those things.

In fact, I pre-ordered the Regular version of the figure (because I don't like the gawdy Exclusive stand).

To me, it's simple:

1) The helmet is not quite accurate (again, it's not even as accurate as Hasbro's 3.75" scaled helmet)

2) I hope Sideshow fixes it, especially since it will affect more than just this figure.

Maybe, but I doubt LFL Licensing is going to make it a deal-breaker. Sideshow is going to have to acknowledge and correct this on their own.

Did I say you did? You pompously jumped into the middle of a discussion without reviewing it's entire contents. I hope you like the taste of your own unguis incarnatus.

Now that's a good post. Even if I did have to look up "unguis incarnatus." :lol

Don't worry, he likely discovered it himself just moments before his post anyway. :lol

At least we know the interwebs are good for something... it helps people utilize the power of a Thesaurus. :wacky

It must be hard trying to walk around looking past your nose at the world. I could utilize big speak in my posts but I don't want to come off as an aristocratic, pompous ass, likely compensating for the fact that your parents were siblings. And FYI, didn't have to look it up. I'm rather familiar with medical terminology. But enough of the off topic BS.

SW threads always good for a scuffle or two. :lol

Man, I'm glad I had no part in this one. Retirement is great!! :lol
