Thats what they approved so thats what they wanted IMO.

In a literal sense, I'd agree, to give it a pass means it's how they'd like it. In this dialogue, what they wanted is being used in reference to them wanting it a certain way, accurrate or not, and SSC potentially making a 100% accurrate sculpt but LFL not wanting it to look like that and look like something else. Not really whether it looks like LFL wants it too, but what does LFL want it to look like.

At the end of the day, there is nothing preventing Sideshow from going back and fixing the helmet sculpt other than themselves not wanting to.

Won't the new sculpt need approval though?

Since it's still in Prototype phase it would probably only be a simple matter of procedure to present an improved prototype. Hell, even if they didn't it's not like someone at LFL is going to notice... because it will actually look like an EP3 trooper helmet. :lol

Anyways, at this point if I were sideshow, I'd say @#%$ all of you ungrateful pricks. Have fun with Hasbro on ebaY or cashing in your college money/entire McDonalds paychecks on Medicom, because that's the closest you'll get to armored troops for your 12" collections. You're lucky they aren't.

This is one area that sets Sideshow apart. While some of the wording of complaints/nitpicks/critiques could be more proper and what not, they are valid and benefit the collector. Plo Koon was to come with a green saber, folks here pointed out the error and SSC fixed it. They do listen, and they care about the quality of their product and pleasing their customers. If folks find miss things and properly itterate it here or in mail to SSC, it'll carry wait and more often than not, lead to a better end product for the consumers.

Some sculptor worked his ass off, hunched over a vicegrip chipping away at a piece of wax for hours.

I support your effort to defend artists, but thought I'd share that I'm pretty sure the armor stuff is done in a computer program, not hand sculpting like a human portrait, at least that's what we were told regarding Vader.

And, and just for good measure:

:monkey3

I don't think the one on the left is 212th, I think it is Bacara's squadron. Regardless, they should all look like the one on the left in sculpt. If they fix it, great. If not, I am not going to argue about it.

Touche :lol "Hey hey, you guys changed your figure from what we approved!" "Hey hey, it's identical to what you had in your movie!"

Dude, chill. What do you care what people write here? Isnt this forum to discuss this kind of stuff. You would think people are insulting you. No matter what you say people are still going to complain. Being an artist myself, I understand what you are saying, but the majority of the members here were just pointing out the mistakes. If you look at at Shatetterer's posts, He didnt even acknowledge the helmet discrepancy until he saw the helmets side by side posted by someone.

I'm not mad, and I don't think people are insulting me personally. I'm just tired of reading about the same $#!+, over and over. I'd rather log into this thread and see something else, beit new or error about the Utapau than the helmet Speil. As far as Shatterer goes, I'd have done the same in his position considering they actually HAVE the reference material provided them by LucasFilm and we don't. And let me add the fact that none of us have actually seen what was provided them, either.

Then why are you insulting others personally? :monkey1

Sorry, but unless Sideshow addresses the issue one way or another by fixing the helmet for at least future EP3 Clone figures I for one am going to continue to point it out. To his credit, Shatterer of Dreams has all but acknowledged the inaccuracy... after we "vultures" posted the visual evidence. But even he is a self-claimed SSC "minion" so simply getting his attention on the matter is not going to suffice.

Anyway, if you're tired of hearing about the inaccurate helmet, take it up with Sideshow. It's their goof, not ours. Either that or just ignore the thread. Your choice.

Oh, and if they do end up fixing the EP3 clone helmets to something as screen accurate as all of the other licensees have offered... you're welcome. ;)

Here's a concept. Why don't you take your own advice, quit whining here, call Sideshow's customer service line and "take it up with Sideshow." After all, "It's their goof, not ours. Either that or just ignore the thread. Your choice."

As I'm not the person engaging in ad hominem attacks on other board members I don't feel the onus is on me to do "just ignore the thread". :lol

Besides, we've actually been discussing this in a fairly constructive manner the past couple of days. The more the comparison images are posted, the more people become aware of how inaccurate the helmet really is. Even Shatterer of Dreams has admitted that he now sees what we're talking about. No one had been insulting anyone... until you come into the thread.

You just need to chill, dude. Have a cold one... on me. :duff

It's Bly's squadron. However, it shouldnt make a difference. The helmet shape should be the same for almost all of the ROTS clones.

Hey, look at God. The guy has had thousands of years to get humans right, and we are still surounded by idiots. And he is supposed to be perfect.

Unfortunately, due to human rights, idiots are allowed to live and breed and are thus not eliminated by natural selection. They are here to stay.

You're an ad hominen...

You had to look that up didn't you? :rotfl No, I'm not. Stating an observation based on other's actions isn't attacking them personally. And addressing said actions with an accurate metaphor after the continuously repeated posting is entirely warranted. IMO the whole helmet argument was addressed efficiently and to continually nitpick about it is redundant.

:horse

Actually, I think Joe Rogan addressed it perfectly. Humans are different from every other species on earth in that aspect. While the educated individual will only have as many offspring as he can afford, the uneducated of the species breed because they are incapable of higher thought and thus let physical pleasure overcome the need for intellectual stimulation.

These kinds of posts make the SW threads unbearable dude. Not the critiques. If those aren't personal insults to members here then I don't know what is. If you'd just take a step back you'd realize you're the one making a big stinkin' deal out of all this and not the so called "nitpickers". :duff

So calling other board members idiots, pricks, vultures, etc is "warranted". Okay, got it. :duh

Also, you're not being redundant at all in this thread, are you? :lol At least some of the redundancy (or "nitpicking") has a goal: to see Sideshow make improvements to what otherwise looks like a great figure. Or, at the very least, to ensure that future EP3 Clones are rectified. Your end-game seems only intent on jumping on other board members with the same personal insults.

Again, cold one... :duff
