But how many people actually vote with their wallets? People ^^^^^ about the item but still end up buying it even though nothing changed.

I passed on this figure and the fact that the exclusive is still up for pre-order speaks volumes.

Edit: [Fixed]

Ok, I hadn't checked in a while. But that does not discredit my point.

Also depends how far in production the product is. Will people move on or ^^^^^ about the extra 6 months of production time?
I guess it depends on whether or not they go back and fix the helmet for all the other EP3 clones that use the basic bucket. It's one thing if this figure is too far into production, but something else entirely if we're "stuck" with 7-8 other clone figures with inaccurate helmets because they didn't go back and fix it, going forward (especially since we know they'll be charging at least the same price for future clones).

I thought it did have a Low Quantity status.

Sideshow has a history of reusing as many parts as they can, so this is a legitimate concern.

I'll keep the exclusive on preorder but if they don't fix the helmet, I may cancel. I'll wait it out and see if they do anything with it. I just can't keep my eyes off the pointed mouth, just looks so.......wrong I guess.

At this point, it's my #1 concern. To be honest, I can live with an Utapau trooper with the inaccurate helmet... so long as they fix it for all future releases that use the base EP3 bucket.

Likewise, and I'm REALLY hoping Shatterer can bring this up to the right people at Sideshow to review this to be fixed. I'd like to think they can do the right thing to correct this and use the proper helmet for all releases. I'm kind of a clone addict with the Hasbro 3 3/4" line, and I imagine I'll be buying a crapload of Sideshow's clones, but will definitely be turned off by an inaccurate helmet.

If Sideshow WON'T fix it because it's too much trouble, there's a definite market for recast Medicom blank helmets for those of us who want to fix this ourselves. :banghead

I really prefer that they all look the same, but I heard from a retailer who was told by his sales rep that it was due to ship in January.

I have a feeling that the visor being way too narrow near the bottom (forget that it's unpainted, it's still too narrow) is going to start bugging people a lot, too:

Again, here is one of the 1/6 mini-busts by Gentle Giant (with accurate helmet sculpt):

This is starting to make me really grumpy.

:lol And now, to be a total jerkface, I'll show the 3.75" Hasblo figure, which also has a more accurate EP3 helmet (which is notable given its much smaller scale):

Come on, Sideshow... you CANNOT be shown up by Hasbro's 3.75" mass-market figure team! :monkey4

LOL, yep I noticed that within the first couple seconds of seeing the piece when it was first announced. The front of the helmet kind of looks like someone took a heatgun to it and the plastic all shrunk up.

Im a fan of OT and my focus was going to be on the aflliated Imperial troopers only. I was sold on the promo shot of the Utapau clone and signed up for one knowing that I didn't want to get into the prequal line. The weathering, accessories were just to good to miss.

Looking at some decent shots of other manufactured clones, I feel a bit let let down by SSC's bucket helmet prototype for the already stated reasons, missing paint, wrong patterns and wrong shape!

People are right in complaining as they fear the entire line may carry these inaccuracies at is has eben stated that SSC are more than likely to reuse the bucket seeing as the tooling will have already been up and running.

To all the SSC apologists on here, are you crazy or blind or just happy to accept inaccuracies. These are not just toys like 3 3/4 hasbros figures so they should be bang on. If other companies can like medicom than so should SSC. Im sure they are going to milk the line for as much as they can so better that they get the sculpt right in the first instance.

Come on SSC, as it has already been stated, collectors have been waiting for years. Dont blow your reputation over a sculpt when you are riding high with the OT troopers.

Peace and out!

PS can we some SW vehicles too while your at it :monkey5

Calm down there Anzik Hayes.. In light of all what's been going on in the world, you seriously doubt that the money grubbing bastards at LFL are not infact money grubbing bastatrds.

*Sarcasm.
No one goes to the well more than Lucas. I just assumed the irony was rather apparent.

We now continue with our regularly scheduled dissatisfaction.

Hey, look at God. The guy has had thousands of years to get humans right, and we are still surounded by idiots. And he is supposed to be perfect.

We're surrounded by a bunch of anal retentive Star Wars fans with imperfect lives who expect perfection out of everything but that which they make! And it's funny because.....

Why do we even criticize? Because we are paying customers for products that are currently only offered by Sideshow. There is no other company that offers alternative 1/6 scale representations (Medicom is not 1/6). If we don't criticize and don't make a purchase, both the customer and Sideshow loses out. We vote with our wallets of course. But if nothing is said, Sideshow might assume there is less interest in the product and not their design decisions that are decreasing sales.

...regardless of what you say or do, I can guarantee you that at some point, fixed or not, beit this year or next, the Utapau clone will sell out. Because for every ungrateful, overcritical individual who picks something to death like a hungry vulture at an elephant carcass, there are two who are more than grateful to pick up the piece despite it's flaws. Then you'll while about how you should've picked it up while you could have.

Look people, Sideshow has admitted that there may be some errors. HERE IN THIS VERY FORUM NO LESS! Yet, like idiots, you still pick it to death. The case has been made and Sideshow has heard AND SEEN your point. Enough already... :horse

As apposed to some annoyingly random bastard who hasn't posted anything relatively relevant to the Utapau figure in the Utapau figure thread?:p

I'm not a "Sideshow Super Duper Fan" at all.:rotfl That's what you nitpicky vultures use as a counter argument when you've got nothing else to say. And I don't think everything they put out is golden (check my post history). I just think the helmet nitpick has gone on FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR too long, and at a measly $90, I'm more than willing to live with the slight variations. Despite what others would have you believe, it's not so glaring as to make the sculpt/paint look like something other than what it is, an Utapau Clone Trooper.

And P.S. I don't want to bite you. Scabies and crabs aside, God knows what else you'd transfer. :yuck
