He is the superstar of the line.... and he has the coolest accessory (chewed arm).

See I disagree. I think the Peril Zombie is far superior to PZ. I do however like the arm accessory.

You both don't know ^^^^. :lol PZ is overrated. Yup I said it. I paid $350 for mine because I wanted the entire DEAD line but in reality looking at the figure its pretty basic. It holds its Grail status because we keep it that way and its the first launching figure but in reality even its 300 ES isn't something that hasn't been repeated in this line. Its only a matter of time IMHO until we see some kind of PZ Variant with all the outcry for one.

The Superstar of this line is without question The Security Guard. He is elaborate, the HS is fantastic and he holds a very tight look and lead IMHO over PZ. I have multiples of that figure and definitely like heads and shoulders over PZ.

What I really want for this line is a Mort figure done with an ES of 300. Hell, SSC I'll be happy to pose for the HS. :lol

Perhaps... except that PZ really sticks out from the other ones... not to mention that other zombie accessories come with his picture.. really he is the equivalent of Luke... He is the superstar of the line.... and he has the coolest accessory (chewed arm).

Just saying. :dunno

I see what you mean there, Pix. He was the start of the line, and many other figures in the line revolve around. So he is the star. He is the start of the virus, very important character. Hell, I can imagine a whole story involving the survivors need to find him for a possible cure or to understand the virus.

The problem I see with where this line is going, it's just random zombies... And tons of variants of the same zombies. No story to speak of so far. There is sooo much you could do with a zombie story, you could create this entire world. Survivors, scientists, mercenaries and zombies. And I think that more body parts are needed with the Zombies, what is a zombie without a snack?

I just want more variety and less repetition. And at least an attempt at a story, help score my interest and keep me going with this line.

YES! I totally agree with that. Different body parts which made up a corpse would have been awesome. and The Dead seemed to have a story in the begining but now it all seems random.

Oh....forgot the part about the Peril Unlimited being far superior to PZ. I don't agree there at all. Its a nice custom that was somewhat mass produced but PZ's greatness is in its simplicity and throwback to old Zombie films....for me PU's Zombies try a little too hard....

Yeah. PU's does great stuff but they remind me too much of hair band album covers from the early 80's.

Yeah. Sub 5 is my fave as well... BUT I love the PZ head sculpt. :inlove

Same here. The guard is AWESOME, best all around figure in the line. But that PZ head sculpt is tops, very well done.

I had PZ and sold him, but he was still a solid figure. And I am not a completist in any way, I don't subscribe to having to own every figure or else I will be too sad to go on. I just need a reason to collect them.

I can make random zombies all day long, it's very easy to do. But, there should be something behind it if you start creating a long line of figures. At least a general outline.

What has really happened to this line is the fact that SSC really stopped its viral beginnings, up until The Doc, we had a backstory and DNAgent pushing the way (still looking for that figure BTW) after that it all fell apart with no explanations. They could have spun the variants to be much more important than just figure releases if they wanted it.

I wonder if any part of the current draw of the Dead line even for non completitionists is the hope that one of the subsequent figures will reach PZ status.

Its in there for some, especially the variants. I guarantee you that people who are hunting the International variant are 50% Collector Completists and 50% Wanna-Be Flippers who are looking for that one to his PZ Status. The line started with people just liking Zombies and getting into it, the explosion of PZ made people want to get in as an investments and SSC has really deluded that with their multiple variants....hopefully the line will get back to its roots and continue moving strong as Dooley started it.

I know that in my case, I just like zombies and dead things.... that is the only reason I collect this line. :lol

Exactly what he said.

I dunno. If I smoke, I may not have cancer now, but surely the cancer will come.

PZ is like cancer to this line.

:lol:lol Interesting analogy...here's one:

If a cherry bomb goes off in your hand and your finger does not fall off in three days, it's not going to fall off in three years. :lol

hehehehe

If you push too hard you just might accidently ^^^^ yourself. :fart

How is your analogy even remotely related to the point I made? Maybe if PZ had looked like Pam Vorhees than "The Cherry Bomb Analogy" would be closer to the point I made. (though we all know what happened to the Jason line...NECA anyone?

PZ aint no cherry bomb. :lecture

:rotflThe analogy was not meant to be related to the point you made in the slightest bit! After reading your analogy about smoking, I thought we were just being goofy. I had no idea you were being serious...:rotfl
