Wow...

Crazy thread is crazy. :cuckoo:

"Devalue the previous version"...?? Spluh?!

If I were speaking for Sideshow, I'd send out a big, fat "who gives a ^%&$??" because, as was brilliantly posted earlier, it's not their responsibilty to hold up the aftermarket value of their products... especially if they're not seeing any of those dollars.
As a company trying to stay in business, it is their responsibility to milk any "cash cow" they think can turn them a profit.

Now, speaking for myself, I'll send out a big, fat "who gives a &^%$??" because the idea that this particular instance is a bad idea when this happens every other week (I'm lookin at you, Classic/Symbiote/Negative Zone ((??!)) Spidey PF...) is insane.

Seriously, the only way to "devalue" the first Venom bust is to put out a second bust that LOOKS JUST LIKE THE FIRST ONE...

...which, clearly, isn't the case here.

Frankly, I didn't need the first one because I've already got a couple of the Horizon kits its appearance was based on....

However, this apparant "Bagley/Ultimate Venom" just might get me to fire up my credit card.

So, c'mon, guys.... get over it.

That's my story and I'm stickin' to it....

...well, until SS solicits a life-size Silver Surfer bust and I start wailin' like a banshee about how it'll "devalue my Upper Deck one". :rotfl
(Oh, who am I kidding? There's such an insanely small number of them out there that that could never happen. :nana: )

Me too, but $1k for a bust is almost pushing it IMO. Especially when you have to worry about the paint job longevity.

Yeah, you have to be careful with the IM 1:1 Bust. Mine arrived with a chip...but it wasn't bad enough where I would force myself to return it. Haven't had any other problems since I got it and I'm not worried about the paint at this point. I actually love the bust.

Awesome. Yeah I love the Iron Man bust, but I'm afraid of getting one from a 3rd party and the paint starting to fade/flake in a couple years.

Thats the main thing with this bust. Haven't heard much on the fading...but chips and scrapes seem common. I'm think mine was a small factory defect. Here is what the damage looks like on mine:

Looks bad, but on display you can hardly notice it. I call it battle damage :lol :

This is like a Xmas miracle for me!

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU, Sideshow!

I take back any negative things I've ever said about you! ***until the next QC issue pops up... *** :D :chase

Looks like its going to be better than the first one! :rock

How? There are still only 300 of the original. It is still the ____ when it comes to that version of Venom. Existing owners don't lose anything unless they sell it and who knows if the price is going to be affected by this release anyyay?
Sideshow releases a preview picture of 2 rows of teeth and all of a sudden 300 original Venom bust owners are screwed?

This is sucks for owners that paid more than the retail price in secondary market for the first one.

Only a few people seem to care about that. Signal to SS to reissue all popular/valuable pieces in a slightly different format/pose for the almighty $... aka Bowen. Sort of diminishes the "limited edition" aspect of collecting, doesn't it?

Your opinion is dumb.

I don't see the original bust dropping even 1 cent. First of all, it is the classic venom, this second one will be more modern. Second of all, anyone who has seen the first, or has/does own it, knows that the detail to this bust is second to none, in particular the tongue which is sooooo insanely detailed one would swear it's real unless they touched it. I think the original will be even more sought after.

Yup is does diminish it a bit Mesa. When another piece is done, it needs to be done much differently in pose to make it stand on it's own.
