That crap drives me nuts man, sadly there are people that eat that "get er' done!" s_it right up! So I know she has lived in Alaska since she was an infant but what is with that accent? Where is she from, Minneapolis. Sometimes I think it's a put on for the Cooter/Nascar/Blue Collar Comedy crowd. Ugh.

Minnesota = Nascar? :rotfl:rotfl:rotfl:rotfl:rotfl

never mind that palin is as smart as george bush, but that thing about her banning books is just a no, no. whatever happened to that thing called freedom?

It's unfounded. Supposedly she tried to ban Harry Potter from the library before HP was even written.

Show me the links/story/facts

Part of that is because of the crappy format of these "debates". They are not even debates. The candidates are not allowed to address each other or ask each other questions directly. It's just softballs lobbed by the moderators that in turn become a series of mini-speeches by the candidates.

You should check out the Canadian version... (yes, we've got our own national election in a couple of weeks) They had the French debate a couple of days ago (yes, our candidates have to be fluent in both of our official languages-- could you imagine a US debate where the candidates had to debate in Spanish?:rotfl) and the candidates are seated around a table and are able to speak to one another and fervently get into a actual "debate" (imagine that) with one another over the issues-- instead of quoting endless prepared stale rhetoric.:monkey4

Don't make fun of the USA, DN, or we will totally come up there and annex you. :lol

Thought Biden won (not totally unexpected considering age and experience in the legislative branch where they do more talking and less walking :lol) but Palin held her own and proved she isn't an idiot. Thought Palin did a good job driving the point home that owners of businesses employ workers, not the other way around.

Democrats believe too much in giving people the fish but not the fishing pole, IMO, but I understand thats attractive to a lot of people who don't have the skills to fish for themselves.

You guys do know they don't read off prompters during a debate right?

and she did her speech at the convention with a messed up prompter so she doesn't depend on them as heavily as others do. It’s okay to give her some credit even if you don’t like her. She hasn’t been on the whole national issues stuff for too long. Even if you go back to when they started interviewing her for vp it’s not nearly as long as obama, biden and mcain have been preparing for this stuff. give her 3 years in the senate like obama has and i'm sure she'll be able to answer stuff just as well as he can.

Yes. But they also have papers and notecards on the podium. Palin had a notecard for every question (way more than Biden) and kept marking them off as she went. It was well rehearsed speech, nothing else. She never got into any specifics unlike Sen. Biden.

Avoid personel attacks otherwise this thread will go south.

Oh jeez, if you think that's a personal attack, you apparently missed the other thread.

And you're responses are predicatable as hell. I haven't even been following this thread, but of course you would be saying Palin was well rehearsed with her note cards and Biden was better since you were defending Obama in other threads.

These political threads really don't get anything accomplished.

Palin proved herself yesterday that she isn't a moose in the headlights, and I believe it's because she's a smart woman and can think on her toes. Biden looked good too, better than Obama did last Friday.

But could I expect ANYONE from the Obama camp to actually give the woman a little bit of credit for a job well done? Especially after all the personal attacks on her character priori to the debate? of course not. :rolleyes:
