nOOB wants to know why you guys are buying mint vintage SW figures. is it that you don't have these characters in your collection, you have them and want multiples, or is it that you would like a more minty tasting character?
i just unpacked some of my SW vintage and starting to stick my toe in the water again after all these years. just not sure how far in the deep end i wanna go.
Most of my childhood toys were destroyed/played with. So a lot of my stuff is new, but that's okay with me.
Damn, Waller I just remember I never got back to you about my faded-ass Sy Snootles
Hot damn Waller! That thing is sooo awesome! The colors are so vibrant... It just oozes Star Wars and 70's. How is the quality of the cardboard they used? Is it as thick and stable, when set up, as it appears to be? You mentioned it having a pretty substantial footprint. What's the diameter? Like 2.5-3'?
That is an awesome piece Richard, can I ask what this set you back? I know it's a grail.
Thank you for all the feedback guys!
I'll probably start sooner or later, but it looks like I'll need to do some homework on prices, grading and most importantly a most wanted list as funds will be tight shortly.
I'll probably hang out here from time to time, though, and hopefully soon post pics of some of the sw toys I just brought back from my parent's house (including some joe and transformer stuff).
It cost me $500 shipped from Canada. It did come with the box that I may try to clean up a little and stuff it with something to hold the shape. I got it from a guy from RS who was nice enough to hold it for a month while I generated some money from eBay sales.
You won't regret getting into the vintage stuff.
And enjoy this thread. Easily the best one on the board. All the cool kids post in here.

Got a couple figures in the mail Saturday. Paploo and Hoth Leia. Very, very happy with Leia. She's dead mint, clean w/tight joints. Paploo is really nice but not quite as dead mint as Leia. I never owned Paploo as a kid so I was pretty stoked to finally get him.
A question for those in the know, Paploo has no CCO. I see this referenced pretty often but I have no clue what it means? Is this figure made in Mexico? If anyone has any info I'd love to hear it.
So I just paid for a VERY nice vintage piece... something many would consider a grail, I think!
But you'll have to wait until I get home (around the 20th?) for me to take pics and show it off. I'm very happy I was able to get this...
As far as I know, it just means there's no "made in" country markings. I don't believe that means it was made in Mexico though... probably Hong Kong.

Vintage grail? Gotta be one of these...
Am I right?
I'd love a nice loose version of the Missile Cmmd HQ. I had a Flagg once and it was just too much playset. Or maybe it's that I collect too much other stuff. Either way, as an adult, it felt a little gluttonous.
