LOL Looks like Cross Country with a mustache.

:lol

That's great! :rotfl

Looking back at him, that Cross Country is a Frankenstein Joe. He's got the 82-83 style legs, what looks to be his own head, torso, and crotch, some Cobra's upper arms (see the logo on his left arm), and someone else's forearms (has folds of material on it, and he's got flesh colored gloves. Wacky.

Hahahaha, a free GI Joe with a Batman figure, that's AWESOME!!!

Funskool also made something that I've wanted for years, a Street Hawk figure with cycle! I loved that show as a kid:

What exactly is the deal with the funskool joes ? Are they like the equivilant of Tri-Logo for star wars ?

I think the Tri-Logo stuff was still Kenner made/quality, wasn't it?

Did we get Tri-Logos in Canada? I don't remember... I think they were just English back then, but maybe I'm remembering wrong...

I don't know about the Tri-logo Star Wars guys, but Hasbro sold various Joe molds to Indian company Funskool back in the 1990s. Some of those figures are pretty close to the original counterparts, some aren't. Funskool gave some figures trippy color schemes.

I want that. I'm sure I can find a use for a high-vis Beach Head. Maybe on a Flagg deck?

One of the other big differences with Funskool figures is the quality, or lack thereof... Most international GI Joes were either made in the same Hong Kong factories as the North American ones (e.g. Europe, Japan), some in Brazil (same as the US Slaughter's Marauders figures and vehicles, which I always thought was kind of interesting). I think the Argentinian Joes were made in Argentina and were of a slightly lesser quality, but Funskool really takes the case... I've had them more or less disintegrate on me before.

Darn. Want that too.

I do have "Bomb Squad" Tripwire though, a Funskool classic if there ever was one!

Yah with the exception of Boba Fett the tri-logo Star Wars figures are still the same as regular released figures. I know the tri-logo Boba Fett is a lighter color blue.

Looks good! Do they have to be permanently sealed? Be cool if you could open them up if you wanted.

The artwork really made those Joe cards... I wish I could get a collected poster of them...

Agreed, the artwork was awesome. Actually most 80s toys had great artwork on their packaging. MOTU, Joe, Clash of the Titans, etc.

I seem to recall someone on Hisstank having hi res pics of the Joe card art that you could turn into posters, but that was probably 4 years ago. I was thinking about that recently, because I would like to get the Flint art as a poster.

The guy selling them suggests permanently sealing it with double-sided tape, which I have done. Not sure how you could mod them so they could be reopened, but it could be possible.

I'm addicted to vintage SW cardbacks now. I currently have 11 and I won 14 over the weekend. :panic:

You damn Junkie! :p

Nothing vintage for me lately. I need to take a break financially and I can't seem to get a break on the stuff I want so it's time to sit it out for a while.

Wow!!!

That is totally awesome news!!! I don't usually get excited about new "vintage" but this is a must have :rock :rock :rock
