Star Wars - Chewbacca (reg and 12"), Fett, Leia Boushh, Tauntaun, Jabba, Speederbike, Ewok Village
GI Joe - WHALE, Cobra Commanders, HISS
Transformers - Optimus Prime, Scorponk,
MOTU - Ram-Man, Battle Action He-Man & Skeletor, Castle Grayskull
Thundercats - Lion-O, Panthro and Thundertank
Voltron - All 5 Lions
MASK - Thunderhawk & Switchblade
Super-Powers - Batmobile w/Batman & Robin
Mego - Batman, Robin, Joker, Penguin and Batmobile
LJN WWF - Hogan, Rowdy Roddy Piper
Indiana Jones - LJN Mola Ram & Thuggee, Kenner German Indy and German Mechanic
Remco Universal Monsters - ALL OF THEM!!! :)

This a great question... I have often done this as a way to have figures from a series, but not have to go all completist with the line.

Star Wars: Impossible... unthinkable idea :huh
GI Joe: 3 3/4" Cobra Commander, Duke, Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow
Transformers: OG Optimus and Megatron- Could add Starscream and Grimlock
MOTU: He-Man and Skeletor
Thundercats: Mumm-Ra (full power) and Lion-O & Jaga
Voltron: Die-Cast Voltron I, II and III
MASK: Thunderhawk & Switchblade
Super-Powers: Superman, Lex Luthor, Joker and Batman
Secret Wars: Spider-Man (red and Blue), Wolverine, Dr. Doom and Magneto
Mego: That's a hard one since there were so many series; Fonzie, Kirk, Superman and Spider-Man
LJN WWF: Hogan Hogan & Andre The Giant (w/long hair)
Go-Bots: They suck... so I would never own them
Captain Power: Captain Power, Powerjet, Lord Dread and Soaran Sky Sentry
Dino-Riders: Deionychus and T-Rex
Sectaurs: Dargon w/Dragonflyer & Spirax w/Spiderflyer

Good lists. Here's what I was thinking...

Star Wars - I started off just wanting a set of the ones from the first movie, but of course I had to add Boba, Yoda, Lando, the Emperor, etc... now I'm getting them all, plus the creatures (Jabba, Rancor, Wampa, etc). Vehicles? I could probably be happy with just an X-Wing and TIE Fighter.
GI Joe - For me, it's everything from '82-'87, plus all the figures from '88-'90 and pick and choose the rest. It'd be hard for me to pick just a few, but I suppose it'd have to be '85 Snake Eyes, '84 Duke, '83 Cobra Commander and maybe a Cobra Trooper. I like the idea of getting an original 12" GI Joe as well - the first ever made. One day...
Transformers - Optimus Prime, Megatron and Soundwave. Maybe Starscream too.
MOTU - All I really want from the vintage line is a minty He-Man w/Battlecat, and maybe Skeletor as well.
Thundercats - I'd be happy with just Lion-O and Snarf. If this new classics line looks like crap, I'd probably also get Mumm-Ra and the rest of the main good guys.
Voltron - All five lions. I think I'd rather have the plastic ones with the figures.
MASK - Thunderhawk - that's the flying red sports car, right?
Super-Powers - Superman, Batman, Robin and the Batmobile.
Mego - I threw this in for the other collectors but this was before my time...
LJN WWF - I'm thinking Hulk Hogan... I'm not a wrestling fan but I was when I was a kid. It'd be kind of cool to have one.
Indiana Jones - I don't really remember this line back in the day so it's out for me.
Remco Universal Monsters - ditto!
Go-Bots: The poor man's TF, lol... but I think I'd like to have Leader-1 and Cy-Kill at least. Maybe the larger versions they did a little later.
Captain Power: Not a big fan but I think I'd like to have just Captain Power at least, for old time's sake!
Dino-Riders: It's looking like I'll be getting some of these MIB - unfortunately not the T-Rex though. If I could only have one, it'd be the T-Rex. I'll have to keep an eye out for one...
Sectaurs: I had three of the four big ones back in the day - and I always wanted the fourth - the big spider guy. I know these aren't popular these days but I'd want the four main big guys at least.

Aw, they're not so bad... Not as good as Transformers, obviously, but they deserve their place in '80s toy history and we all had them! I was thinking I'd at least want a Leader-1.

Let me know if you don't plan on keeping Lion-O and Snarf, at least! :)

There were some very cool Go-Bots.

Nice collection. I had Leader-1 and Cy-Kill, even watched the show but I was/am a Transformers fan through and through. Eff the GoBots. :lol

Oh, not mine. Just a pic I pulled off Wikipedia.

I don't know, I think they compliment TF, personally. I still want Leader-1 and Cy-Kill at least. Maybe Turbo, Scooter and Copturr (sp?) too. Those are the only actual characters I remember - I don't think I actually watched the old show...

BTW, edited my Dino-Riders list... I meant Diplodocus (the large good guy set) not Deionychus... hopefully no paleontologists were offended by my confusion :lol

Gotcha... that is a very sweet looking art :rock

Until now I was oblivious to what I was missing out on :lol Getting a set of the original turtles (and maybe Shredder) is another thing on my list of eventual purchases :rock

I know, I was content with the NECA figures... then after you sold them I started shifting more towards the vintage :lol

BTW Nate, your figs are mailed out and on the way :duff

Loving those ol gobots pics!!! Definatly would like to find some in good condition! Ahhh to be a kid again :)

I just really loved the art on the box! It was one of the few boxes I had kept for a long time after opening.

Wow, I must have missed Krang back in the day - that would be awesome to have with all four Turtles... and I guess Shredder and Splinter would be key as well.

One more to add to the list I guess!

Vintage collecting is really a slippery slope... depending on how far back you go and what time period you are into it can get out of hand real fast :lol

remember the days where you could walk into toys r us and there was a whole aisle dedicated to nothing but weapons? guns (no lame colors or orange caps), swords, bows and arrows etc. man i miss that. i particularly remember some rifles and shotguns were sold loose and were kept in stand up gun rack, kind of like a holder for multiple umbrellas. the weapons aisle was my favorite second only to the action figures.

i got the ak-47 from a seller on ebay who was selling a sectaurs figure i wanted. i checked their other items and there it was. surprisingly nobody bid on it. got it for 10 bucks!

Heck yeah, I loved that too! Definitely my favourite area after the GI Joe section.

lol, I'd still keep Deinonychus. They were small but cool - for those not in the know, that's what the Velociraptors actually were in Jurassic Park (Raptors are actually much smaller - I guess the name just sounded cooler).

The Diplo was the main big guy from the first series, but I think I prefer the Brontosaurus from the second wave better. Just a better design, I think.

The Diplo was the only one I had as a kid so I've always preferred it. Although I always wanted the T-Rex, I remember another kid had one and it was all kinds of awesome :rock

I have the Daisy Defense Force Bazooka. Its AWESOME. I would totally get shot if I aimed it at a federal building. Not a spec of blaze orange on it. :rock
