I vaguely remember that Jaws game growing up. I se you've modified yours for an adult player, by connecting it with a plug straight to mains voltage - that sure beats the buzzer on Operation. Nice! ;)

Picked this up. Had this game when I was a kid, and loved it. Not quite as exciting now. :lol But still nice to have. In good shape and complete with instruction booklet. View attachment 94450

That game has been on my Want List for a few years but I never see them at shows. It's an awesome looking game.

:lol I didn't even notice that. It's like Jaws 2. :D

Madcow, I've been looking for this for 2 years. It's been challenging finding one that had all its game pieces, didn't have a broken hook, and still had the eye decals. It's definitely a cool game design. I love it's simplicity. The rubber bands do all the work. :)

Wow! I have some of my earliest fondest memories playing with that! You're right--I remember it looking much more realistic! :)

It looked much larger when I was six. :lol

On another note, I came across a sealed box of ROTLA Canadian trading cards, so I'm assuming they are in English and French. But I can't bring myself to open the packs.

Yeah, it's definitely a tough one to find. Congrats, it looks like a beaut.

WHAT?!?! Now you're really killing me. I collect unopened wax packs and boxes. I've been trying to get a nice ROTLA box for a while (already have a TOD). Is it an O-Pee-Chee box? Post some pics please.

Nice! Open them up and eat the gum!

I remember there was an offer to send away for a poster. I didn't know what to expect and it turned out to be a poster of the cards--although I don't remember if it was supposed to be the entire card set or just the highlights. I'm sure I have it somewhere in my Mother's house.

Are you sure it's not an uncut sheet? I'm curious to see this. And... I WANT IT! :p

Pretty sure it isn't an uncut sheet, MadCow. It was regular poster paper (not card stock). And I'm pretty sure it had some kind of banner or masthead across the top or something that makes me think it was specially laid out to be its own thing. I tried to find a picture online but didn't find anything. I'll keep digging to see if I can find a pic. Mom's house is in FL and I'm in NJ, so I can't pop over there to find it.

Well I checked and the perforation on the lid of the box isn't sealed, and the box does have some wear with tape residue. Looks like someone taped the lid closed at some point. But at any rate, it's an O-Pee-Chee and a full box. I found it in Florida.

You have a pic of your TOD box? Would love to see it. I've been looking for one of those too. The only thing I found so far is a loose set of the stickers.

The boxes themselves never came sealed, just the packs are. That looks like a nice box. A lot of the time you'll find them really beat up or with a big marker slash on them. It's tough to find nice examples.

My TOD box is packed away with the rest of my Indy collection. I'll have to try and dig it out one day.

That's good to know about the trading card boxes. It's the only example I've come across. I'm glad it's in good shape.

Hi everyone. Waller and MC led me here, so blame them. :wave

I had that Jaws game! Completely forgot about it until I clicked on in to the Vintage thread! :lol

While I was home this past week, for the first time in 14 years, I went to my original comic shop, Trilogy. While there, I spied a sealed R2-D2 board game. At first, I saw the price sticker on the back showing what I thought was $100. And I got to thinking I could maybe haggle my old dealer down to maybe $80. It is R2 after all. But then upon further inspection, I found the price to be $300! Then I knew I was out, but the shop owner didn't even seem interested in lowering the price at all. Not that I would have bit, but he just dropped the subject. It was kinda weird. But whatever, I am trying to eliminate things anyway, so I really really didn't need it anyway. Plus, a cursory search on eBay showed they can be had for far less.

In other news, Waller's collections of loose vintage has had me thinking lately. I'm resisting with all my might getting into that tailspin… :rotfl

That's the case with about 95% of stuff you can find in the comic shop, but it's harder to resist something when you see it in person. I haven't been to a comic shop in a few years I don't think, but I used to always get suckered into buying crap I didn't need for way more than I should have spent.

Regarding the tailspin:

I feel like that all the time. :lol

Like for instance, I heard the Hyperkin RetroN5 ad playing from the bedroom this morning right after I shared it on my wall. I went in and he totally didn't understand what he had bought me. He was like does this have all the old games on it, Atari and stuff? I said you had to buy carts and explained which systems it played. The eyes began to roll...

It's like that at cons too. :lol

I had to go into Trilogy. It was my original spot for G.I. Joe comics and beyond in 1985! Same people are still there running it!

Interesting fact: we dropped some of dad's ashes around the outside of the shop, as I had strong and fond memories of many trips there.

That's really touching, fury. I'll probably do something similar with my mom's ashes someday.

I'm in Oklahoma City right now, and came across these two trading card boxed sets. The boxes are in wonderful shape, even in better condition than the ROTLA boxed set I have.
