Those MASK toys were the best. I was the only one on my street who collected them though.

Pretty sure I was the only one as well.

It's weird how that was, sometimes. Believe it or not, I was really the only kid in my class who collected Joes, although my two cousins did. Now I wonder if their parents were just dumb peaceniks...

Everyone else was mainly into Transformers at that time, or MOTU. Of course SW was big with everyone a little bit earlier than that. And of course I liked all those as well, but GI Joe was always my main thing.

The cool thing about M.A.S.K. was that it was half GI Joe and half Transformers. :rock

Yep, 236 figures released in the US... 233 on the poster, 2 wrestling ring figures and Satan Cross (non-poster figure). In Japan there were 418.

418, of which 236 were the same as the US, I take it?

I guess 236 IS a lot. I'm never good at those "guess how many gumballs there are in the jar" - it didn't look like that much to me!

I'm gonna have to get these some day.

Does anyone here collect Boglins? I normally tell people I have the world's largest boglin collection, probably not true, but I've yet to see someone with a bigger one.

i had one boglin as a kid. i'd like to collect them sealed in the boxes, but they're usually opened and played with. you have pics? i'd like to see them.

It's funny... I saw your post and didn't recognize your avatar so I was going to post "You should check with Denger" :lol

I really like them, but don't have any. If you check out the Little Rubber Guys forum they have people on there that collect Boglins, especially the mini-boglins.

Yeah, essentially 234 (I think) are also in the Japanese series. They were broken up into 30 series and the US figures are comprised of figures up to the 22nd series as they were released in Japan.

2 of the figures in the US series are actually odd variants that were only released in the US. One is just a slightly smaller Muslceman figure and the other is a Terribull with his arms held up... both of them were only sold as part of the Hard Knockin' Rockin' Ring.

Here's my set which are 2 sets of the US figures (One in original flesh, and a 2nd only in mixed colors) and a set of the Non-US figures in the gumball machine.

They were GREAT! I still remember when I got Drool, still have him in this cage (box). I also have Slobster and the green frog/fish guy with the tongue. I just recently found a small plastic Boglin figure, didn't even remember they existed.
@denger4000, I would love to see your collection. Do you know if the winged Boglins were ever released? I dont remember ever seeing them in stores, but a teaser was on the back of the "aquatic" Boglins.

That's just amazing. :horror

Did yuo buy the entire set at once or did you have to search ?

All 3 sets were pieced together over many, many years :lol

Flesh set took about a year, mixed color about 2 years and the Kinkeshi set in the middle took about 10 years from start to finish. Buying hundreds of little figures that were only released in Japan 20+ years ago is a very time consuming mission :lol

I love how both you guys decided to display these. Very creative!

Anyone get GUTS? I loved anything military related as a kid. Even Army Ants.

I really liked Army Ants... but never really got into GUTS. I know Slade used to have a set of them; not sure if he still does.

I never had any of these, but I also thought Food Fighters were a cool series.

I had a complete set of them, but they required too much room, so they were sold long ago. The Marine set was my favorite, I still have the guy with the mohawk and shotgun.

Got the first piece of my childhood back.

Atomic man (far right).

If anyone has any leads on the other members shown I would really appreciate it.

Thanks.

What a motley crew that was...

I could see this being a good Ben Stiller/Owen Wilson/Will Ferrell movie.
