Hmmmm... Snaggleishous :drool

So how far are you in your quest to completion?

Just won an auction for a Mad Scientist Dissect and Alien set :rock

Not sure what I'll do with it... but should be a fun item to have.

Those MASK toys were the best. I was the only one on my street who collected them though.

It's weird how that was, sometimes. Believe it or not, I was really the only kid in my class who collected Joes, although my two cousins did. Now I wonder if their parents were just dumb peaceniks...

Everyone else was mainly into Transformers at that time, or MOTU. Of course SW was big with everyone a little bit earlier than that. And of course I liked all those as well, but GI Joe was always my main thing.

Often it seemed like whatever was popular was "the latest thing", like when Centurions came out, or Sectaurs. I remember MASK was kind of short lived around my circle of friends as well.

Yeah, I don't think I collected them for that long. I remember my birthday that year I got 5 or six vehicles from my parents and other family members. After that I think I only got 4 or 5 more. Centurions was even shorter that that..I think I got 2 of the figures and the bike thingy. After that nothing.

It's funny that we were subject to toy "fashion trends" back then.

I guess time will tell if we are today, as well, but things seem more consistent these days...

Star Wars was always the staple of my toys... but also liked Thundercats, Secret Wars and random things like "little green army men" and construx.

I was really into He-man in Kindergarden and 1st grade (I had matching He-man tube socks, t-shirt, and lunchbox), but then I moved in April 86' and He-man was baby stuff and G.I. Joe was the sheet. Period. No one played He-man and Star Wars was kinda an afterthought. I had a buddy in the neighborhood that had a ton of Joe stuff who also had most of the 1st series of MASK. But Joes were like currency. We traded them like kids used to trade baseball cards--the cooler the player, the more he cost. Same with Garbage Pail Kids.

cool. sealed or opened? i've been trying to get the dissect set and monster lab set sealed in c8 or better condition but they either don't show up or go for way too much $$$.

The box has been opened... but the Alien appears to still be sealed in his "body bag" and its complete. Got it for only $30 shipped and a few other smaller Mad Scientist items are included :rock :rock

I really just wanted the Alien to have out on display... or maybe as something fun to play with when my daughter gets older.

Those three lots of figures I bought slowed me down. I could have put that money into figures I didn't have, but it did get me on a path to try and get a C9 collection. I'll have to settle for lower conditions on some figures because of their cost and rarity. That said, I think I'm about 20 figures away from completion. Then it's on to creatures, ships and playsets. :panic:

I need to get some pictures posted of my recent figures: Anakin Skywalker, Gamorrean Guard, Han in Trench Coat, Logray and Wampa. Finding a white Wampa was harder than bulls-eying womp rats in my T-16.
