I'm totally for people carrying a gun. Level headed people that is. Cause there's a lot of unlevel headed people carrying them, with no license or anything.

Thank you sir. I know during the election some of my post may not have seemed the most level headed at times, but in everyday life, I am very level headed.

ETA. I do have a state issued LCCF from my county sherrif. I probably have had more background checks to check for legality issues, then most anti-gunners.

I need to get a gun. I want one for personal protection of my family etc. But the way i was raised i was never around them so i have never even fired one. So i would need to properly learn first, and i'm sure i would have no problem passing a background check.( i think) It's something i keep putting off but want to get done.

Looks like you are going about it the correct way in that you want to learn how to properly use a firearm to begin with. You should be able to ask aroung your area to see if anyone has a training course. If not, get a buddy who has experience to show you gun safety. First rule though is treat ALL firearms as if they were loaded.
