Hundreds of "people" trampled over this worker and a pregnant women.It didn't involve a stampede of inmates or "crazies" from the asylum,but it might as well have.When it comes right down to it,this is the true nature of "people".

We are the mob and our government is a Mobocracy..

I could only imagine what people would do under a real crisis.

The wife and I came up with a brilliant idea to go check out the Rockafeller xmas tree this evening and maybe catch it when they turned the lights on.... um, yeah....not such a brilliant idea. The mob on the side walk was ^^^^ing ridiculous and the police had all the curbs barricaded off so everyone was trapped like cattle. people were starting to get irritated and pushing shoving and yelling. My wife is quite petite but luckily im a decent sized dude so I was able to keep a good amount of space around her while people were trying to push and inch their way forward. Had to tell a couple of jackasses to back the ^^^^ up or youre going to get my elbow in your face.

took us about an hour to get through two blocks so that we could cross the street into safety. geez, never again. And the police are ******* that don't do ^^^^ except watch this chaos from behind the barricades.

I swear to god NYC is the only place where crazy people are accepted as normal...anywhere else you'd be called crazy, but in NY youre normal.

I actually just moved out here a month ago for work. But yeah I am from Hawaii and have been there prior to this.

I think any other time exepct big events the city is "ok" to deal with. But with something like the lighting of the tree, everyone comes out to see it and you know how big this place is . I don't mind the crowds at all, but I absolutely hate the way people act in crowds. They act like their time is more important than every other person who is trapped in that same line....like they have to go somewhere and everyone else doesnt....so they start shoving and shouting dumb things. IMO, everyone is trapped, chill the F out and relax....you'll get to where you want to go.

But I guess the mob mentality really is a disease and people just feed off of each others negativity and pretty soon you have a walmart incident ya know?

Being a "new" New Yorker, where will I be during New year's eve? Yup that's right....far away from Times Square as possible...in the comfort of my own home getting drunk and celebrating with my friends.

I feel just the opposite. I think most people are good, decent people and the few screw ups are the ones making humanity as a whole look bad. Let's face it. You only hear about bad things most of the time.

My last boyfriend was from Staten Island and I said something to him about going to Time Square for New Year's and he said there was no way he'd go anywhere near it because of what happens to people in that mob. He said NYers stay away from that mess.
