My last boyfriend was from Staten Island and I said something to him about going to Time Square for New Year's and he said there was no way he'd go anywhere near it because of what happens to people in that mob. He said NYers stay away from that mess.

My sister lives in Manhattan and many years ago we went to Times Square for New Years.
Was one of the few times in my 41 years that I was truly scared for my life.

I lived in Manhattan for a brief spell and stayed the hell away from Times Square during New Years Eve. I was dating a cop at the time and he said every year it was always an absolute nightmare - since 9/11 I think you now have to go through metal detectors and do security checks to get into the main area....maybe that's changed since then...I was there back in 2003.

There's no way in hell im going near Times Square on Dec 31st. My sister in law and her husband are coming to visit from Seattle and they are planning to go see the ball drop in person. I aint going to talk them out of it but I'll anxiously await the stories when they get back home....IF they make it back home.

Why? You wear a seatbelt in case you're in an accident right? I carry a gun to protect myself and my family if a life or death situation would occur. Could a person kill someone with a car? Millions of us drive cars. Some have had road rage and injured or killed innocent people. Where's your outrage against people driving.
