Especially if they are loading someone that is handicap or the ride breaks...and you sit there for 15 minutes in one place with the song playing.. I contemplated going overboard and swimming for freedom once.

I've often wondered how people in wheelchairs feel when referred to as "playful spirits" or "Brer Bear causin' some trouble".

We're at Disney now. Went to Hollywood Studios yesterday, and Epcot today. Pretty exhausting, but we're trying to fit in as much as we can. Highlight for me so far might be the Three Caballeros ride! Maybe it's just because my daughter loved it so much, though. The alternate Star Tours are pretty cool. And Toy Story Mania was fun as hell.

Was the extra track open at Toy Story? Is so how long was your wait?

Did you see the Star Wars fireworks?

What's the best Disneyland app? e.g. for monitoring ride wait times.

I use two: MouseWait and the one from Disney.

For anyone that's new to the parks I would recommend the Disney app because it includes a very nice colored map of the parks that you can zoom-in/out. Wait times are posted at the location of the ride on the map.

MouseWait will list the ride wait times in alphabetical order based on the name of the ride. For someone who already knows what ride they're looking for (and the location of the ride) I recommend this app because it's faster. It's also very quick in jumping between DLR and DCA.

So by random chance, I might actually make it to Hong Kong Disneyland end of June. Has anyone else been there? It makes me sad that I'll be that close to both Shanghai Disneyland or Tokyo Disneyland but it's not in the cards... only HK.

Thank you

No problem. :duff

I follow MouseWait almost daily just to see the trends....

When you go, if possible, get there before the doors open.

For DLR:
Longest wait times have consistently been Hyperspace mountain. Consider getting on Matterhorn early. This ride also gets long lines and does not utilize the FastPass system.

At DCA:
By far, Radiator Springs Racers has the longest line of both parks. It will consistently hit at least 90 minutes everyday! Tower of Terror and Toy Story Midway Mania are a close second. The Toy Story ride does not utilize the FastPass system.

Because of the long wait times, planning ahead will help you make the most of your stay there. :)

I went a couple of years ago. Weird park. The castle is tiny, but it's nice and spacious. I went just before the Mystic Manor was complete (which I hear is great). I got some good pins there, if you're into that sort of thing and I think the merchandise there is far better than any of the other parks as it all seems 'unique' to HK.

Tokyo was terrible for gifts. I had a load of money to spend, and nothing to spend it on!

One day I'll sort through my photos from HK and Tokyo and post them here.

Bummer about buying merchandise. I collect the Disney pins but very particular. It's got to be Haunted Mansion/Jack Skellington or Star Wars related, and even still, I'll get only the limited or special edition type pins. I do, however, have all the Diamond Celebration and Decades pins.

By the way...

The Frozen musical at DCA is open. Freaks, even if you're not a fan of the movie, this one is a must see. The performance/music was amazing. Absolutely memorable. I don't miss the Aladdin musical it replaced and I love Aladdin!

Great day at Disneyland today - early start, perfect weather, and fast passes made for a very enjoyable time. One of the highlights was the sight of the SW land construction from BTR - some pretty large mounds of earth were visible.

Very cool! Did you end up using any of the ride wait-time apps? Just wondering if they were useful.

Also, I trust you went inside the Star Wars Launch Bay. That was a nice surprise when I first went through it.

Yes we used a couple of those apps frequently throughout our visit - very useful.

And we did visit the Launch Bay, which was pretty cool. It was also fun to watch one of the Jedi shows with the updates.

Where the Muppets once lived is now a shell of a place for previews. This one certainly didn't help Alice.

If anyone's interested in seeing the Shanghai Disneyland Grand Opening Gala, here it is.

It begins with a greeting from Hong Kong Disneyland in cantonese, and the rest is in Mandarin with the occasional English announcement. Bob Iger's speech is in English. The rest of the presentation is mostly music, singing, and projection mapping with fireworks. Pretty cool stuff. The score is composed by Tan Dun (Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon).

Speaking of Shanghai, i just bought my tix. I'm going end of this month!

Amazing! How long do you have there?

I'll be in Shanghai Disneyland for two days and then Hong Kong Disneyland for two days. While Tokyo is the one I REALLY want to see, I think I need an entire week in Japan and 2 days in each park, which I don't have time for this trip.

And here's pics of the new Frozen musical. Disney is practicing color blind casting with this production, which I fully support. I don't want them to do this in the meet & greets or anything, but a stage production is perfectly fine. We just want to see the best talent on stage anyway.

The show, personally, is an improvement over the movie, which I really didn't like much at all. Most story issues I had, were tweaked a bit for the stage show and improved. It had more of a heart anyway.

The theater seats quite a few people, but with only 3-4 shows a day, you have to be there early to get a ticket.
