Fantastic pics as always, dune.

I love the whole "carved out of a mountain" look of that castle so much.

Thanks I wish I could have taken some better one's but it was cloudy and rainy on Saturday so I didn't take a lot of pictures that day and the one's I did take are a bit to dark to my liking to share. :gah:

Great pics dunedain! Sadly we go at the start of November for a few days so just missing the Halloween stuff :( I'll report back with DLP xmas pics:D

Your welcome and the Halloween to Christmas switch is happening in the first and second week of November so you might be able to pick up a little bit of halloween fun.

Does anyone have a larger picture of this painting from the Haunted Mansion:

The guy in the picture looks like someone, and I've been trying to show him but I haven't had any luck.

I can try to take one next time I'm there but it's the Haunted Mansion Holiday right now until the end of the year and I can't remember if those paintings are still there during the overlay.

I only got a chance to hit up DCA yesterday for a few hours so here's a few randoms...

I'm going to be there this weekend (my DLR trip this year is a 2 day weekend trip, which is depressing). I think I remember the pictures being there during the Nightmare changeover. I'd try for a pic, but my camera sucks a) in the dark b) while moving, so I'm not the best photographer for the job.

If I have time Sunday I'll try to swing it and attempt some photos.

Meanwhile there's a few new things at DCA since my last trip. The Frankenweenie exhibit that was at comic-con has moved to the Animation building.

I took a ton of shots at comic-con so I only took a few more.

And Goofy now has this little thing where he comes out and conducts the World of Color fountains in the day. It's matched with classical music and has an opening and ending with a narrator explaining Goofy and how to conduct.. like the classic cartoons. Pretty cute daytime distraction actually.

So I went on Haunted Mansion last night and as I suspected, all of the paintings were covered with wrapping paper. You'll have to wait for 2013 to see the painting uncovered.

Yeah, I realized this weekend would be a no go.

I hadn't even heard Space Mountain was getting a Halloween theme, so I was excited about that. The downside was that with Indy being down, SM was even more crowded than usual - the Halloween theme just seemed to make it worse. Plus, of course, the ride breaking multiple times a day as always.

But Ghost Galaxy (I think?) was awesome. I almost missed going on it twice, since the ride was broken up to almost right before I left yesterday. We had a rider switch thing they gave us at Grand Californian, due to a check in screw up, and we'd saved it. I'd have been pissed if I held it for the end of the trip and had to use it elsewhere.

The Halloween party was a lot of fun, but this year's parade was AWFUL. And I wound up with about six pounds of Tootsie Rolls.

As for Cars Land...

I had tried to ignore everything detail-related to it, because I wanted to go in as fresh as possible.

Walking into it is just insane. The level of detail and accuracy might be the best yet.

Racers is a fantastic attraction, improving on Test Track in every way (except top speed, I guess?) The Mater ride was fun but I don't see myself waiting more than 5 minutes to go on again.

Luigi's Tires is terrible. Utterly boring. If you do manage to bump someone (we did twice the entire time, the rest we spent stuck in a corner), the cushioning removes any impact. I don't understand what the point of the ride is actually supposed to be. The most fun part of the ride for me was walking on the air floor.

The other downside was waiting around for the lighting ceremony thing. Instead of doing what it was supposed to, they just turned all of the lights on at the same time, with no song. Although the crowd's yells of rage amused me enough to make the waiting around worth it.

Haha dang last time the lights turned on there was a song that played with it. Oh well.

Here's a few more pics from my trip last night...

At Mad T Party... they did Gangnam Style

Love the pumpkins in the hub, especially Roger Rabbit

What I love most about Ghost Galaxy is the exterior projections and sound effects. Makes for a really cool thing to see. Oh and we got in line right during the fireworks so it was only a 45 minute wait.

I got sucked out!
DL10212012_0020.jpg

And we'll end on Ray Bradbury's Halloween Tree in Frontierland.

I love that tree, I took a pic during the day. I'll get some of my shots up either today or tomorrow.

Also, I went to Tiki Sam's. The downside is, we went for lunch, so it was REALLY quiet. After you talking it up so much, I was a bit confused. The theming was fantastic, but it wasn't anything especially memorable. But after a few more tables trickled in, and people were ordering the drinks that prompted lights and yelling, it got a lot more fun. I can definitely see that being a great time at night when it's busy.

But oh man, that burger was good. My wife thought I was an idiot because I kept talking about how good the bun tasted.

Haha yah, it's definitely a night time thing but.... early enough so you get a table at the bar. Glad you enjoyed the burger at least! I found it delicious as well.

Need a favor, anyone that visits DL often know if this book is available? Looking to purchase for my wife if anyone is willing to help.
