Damn we'll be goin to Disney Paris in Nov just after Halloween:( Hopefully some nice xmas stuff on though.

When you're at Universal, make sure you make your way towards Islands of Adventure. That's where it is. Also, be sure and have a butter beer! :duff

Maybe it's a rite of passage if you're a Potter fan (I'm not), but I found butter beer really gross. I tasted like cream soda if they forgot to add almost all the soda water.

I've heard the butterbeer served at the Hog's Head is better than at the Three Broomsticks, though I have a hard time believing they wouldn't be the exact same thing.

Has anyone tried the pumpkin juice?

Disney announced that they will serve beer/wine in one of the new restaurants in the revamped Fantasyland in the Magic Kingdom.

The reactions at some Disney boards are just hysterical. I swear the people on these boards confuse people having a few while on vacation with sailors on shore leave.:lol

Which restaurant? I don't understand the problem. I order drinks at several Epcot locations all the time. It's kind of strange that you can't at MK.

The restaurant is Be Our Guest, themed after Beauty and the Beast.

The MK has been dry since it opened in '71 and Disneyland is too (except for Club 33). Some people think that serving anything is some kind of affront against Walt.

Well there is nothing wrong with a drink but if people get immensely drunk that is a situation that isn't fun.

:exactly: Also, at $7+ getting overly intoxicated would be a pretty costly endeavor.

The only time I've seen people over served at WDW was during the Food & Wine festival at Epcot.

Whenever people are like "I love to drink around the world in Epcot", my first thought is, "Where the hell are you getting this money?"

I absolutely am not worried about this leading to any sort of major intoxication issues. Like ozz said, if this was a big issue at the other parks, we'd have heard about it. The article I read mentioned AK as well - is this just at Rainforest, or does Yak / somewhere else have booze?

As for the overall idea of this, I must admit I'm a little disappointed. I have no rational backing for this, but I prefer MK as a dry park. And especially Fantasyland being the non-dry land - to me, that seems like the last land that should serve alcohol. But it's not that big of a deal to me, just strangely a little disappointing.

The only time I've really seen alcohol take over a crowd was at Horror Nights. But that actually kind of works for the whole vibe.

It'll only be served during dinner hours at Be Our Guest, which I don't mind. I guess it'll be mainly French Wine which I do like. New Fantasy Land looks amazing, I just got back from my honeymoon! It's looking GREAT!

Disney is costly. I'm not proud of it but years ago it would be nothing for me to get hammered at Epcot. In fact I went there to get hammered and enjoy the worlds brews and spirits at my leisure. One night I was so drunk I passed out on spaceship earth and they just let me ride around in circles until I woke up. :lol

Again if people have the money to go to Disney they have the money to spend $7 on a drink and get loaded. Although I'm sure my stupid behavior is rare. :monkey3 Not some of my proudest years. :peace

$7? Who are you kidding? A Coke is $7 at Disney! Beer and spirits are well past that! You'd have to be a light-weight or pay out the nose to tie one on at The House of Mouse!

A bottle of Coke is $3-4. In a Cup is like $2.25 or more.

Beers are $7 most of the time.... which is what many bars charge as well.

It's also a preventative measure to keep people from over doing it. They want people to enjoy the parks, not get crazy drunk.

going to disneyland next monday can't wait , also excited to check out cars land as i only go to disneyland / california adventure once every 2 months so i havent seen it yet.
