anywho, does anyone know of an official list of what exactly got cut from the theatrical release and what will be put back in the dvd?

The only thing that has been officially confirmed, so far, is that the Director's Cut is 3hrs, 10 min (about 30 mins longer than the Theatrical version)... and that's BEFORE the version with "Black Freighter" cut back in.

Oh, and the whole arc with the death of Hollis Mason will be back in for sure.

No, it'll be the same animated movie (voiced by Gerard Butler) that will be out first separately on DVD/Blu-ray in 2 weeks.

I'll agree in July.

I dont think the Theatrical Cut is better then TDK....but I have no doubt that the directors cut will be the greatest thing ever.

^^^^in' A. i definitely missed Mason's story in the movie. he added such a down to earth balance to the absurdity of costumed heroes in the comic.

i love marvel movies and action movies, horror flix's are the best.

Watchmen isn't any of those.
don't go in expecting to see a spiderman-saves-the-day-in-grandpa's-comicbooks type movie. it's rated R.

at the end of the day, most average people look at a picaso and see something a 7 year old can draw... other people see it on another level. whose right?? does that speak about the imagination, culturedness and general level of informity of either group??... mabey, but no matter what you tell them they will never see it.... there opinion counts as much as oneanother.. but sould it???

When a persons biggest gripe about the movie is the apperance of male genitals for about 5 total minutes in the whole film... You are either A) overly sheltered B) immature C) a born again christian from the mid west who appeared in HBO's "Right america feeling wronged", if you are not one of those things, you really have to grow up...

I just saw this movie with some friends the other night, and I must say that I was very impressed. It really capture the look and feel of the comic. The casting was just fantastic, and I didn't mind the changes at all. This really is the best it could have been. I am saying that without seeing the directors cut, but I don't see much to complain about. BRAVO!!

How many of you went with your partners? My wife really enjoyed the movie, but during the sex scene I could feel her stare as I could not manage to wipe the huge smile of my face.

My wife looked at me, smiled and I instantly knew somehow....some way I had to get an Owlship.

none of this makes the movie any better. if you notice i said ALL full frontal should warrant an NC-17 rating. taking out the nudity in this movie won't take away the R rating too. the Punisher movies seem to do well without showing stuff and the latest one is hardcore as it gets.

I never put words into your mouth or said you said anything to the contrary. I was simply explaining the mindset of the MPAA compared to your line of thinking. The latest Punisher is violent but the MPAA has very different guidelines between sex (including nudity) and violence. Filmmakers will always be able to tow the line further with violence than nudity. I don't think full frontal nudity warrants an NC-17 but I do think its telling that our society isn't as liberated and open as we like to portray ourselves. The same ol' uncomfortablities still exist regarding nudity of both genders. The big blue dong wasn't a point of discussion for me as I didn't even notice it until like I said a giggle was heard, wasn't my focus point. Although it is interesting that something like that can pull someone right out of a film.

Grow up... the nudity is in the movie, it's legitimate to discuss it.

To discuss it requires people to look at it in comparison to the source materal. If people don't want to hear comparisons to the book or people defending it then it shouldn't be brought up period. For every "I don't like it" we see ten more "This is why its important". Its ALL redundant and both sides should move on at this point.

For reals, it didn't bother me like I thought it would. Wow, blue dong. Not a big deal. It didn't bring me out of the movie, so no big deal. Now if he would have been walking around with a full blown erection the whole time, that might be a different story.

Lots of straight guys watch pron and it probably wouldn't be as fun if some guy was going at a girl limp as hell.

And the dong wasn't even real!! It was fake!!!!!! FAKE!!!!!
