Only bit I was gutted about was when Rorschach kills Blaire Roche's murderer. That is one of my fave bits so gutted we didn't have the speech as he views the burning house.

I as thinking that when I watched it last night, but apparantly that bit also happens in a Mad Max film, so I guess they didn't want to reference it or something.

I did enjoy the film, it just seemed to fly by, to be honest I think it needed more time to play out a bit more. I wasn't quite feeling this over bearing burden of nuclear annihilation no matter how much they mentioned it.

And I do agree with what DarkArtist said about Bubastis only appearing at the end. If you know the book it's a great nod, but the friend who I was with hadn't so for him it's a bit of a WTF moment. If she'd appeared throughout the film it would've been fine. But with the change of ending she becomes almost unnecesary.

I also just got back not too long ago from viewing it. I won't repeat what's been said ad nauseam, so I'll just say I enjoyed it enough to warrant the exorbitant admission prices (twice!). What I didn't like was how often the female viewers in the audience giggled whenever lower Manhattan appeared on screen.

After seeing the film, I wished I had the opportunity to experience the story through fresh eyes, and not be constantly reminded of how much the film deviated from the graphic novel.

I have only one big complaint with the movie: Malin Akerman. I don't know if I should chalk up the stilted dialogue to the script or the 80's setting, but I didn't think her acting was up to snuff. It hurt to watch the emotional scene between her and Carla Gugino near the end. Also, while I felt every other actor almost perfectly inhabited their respective character in appearance and well, character, I couldn't accept Akerman, as she doesn't even look like Laurie from the novel. I forgave Matthew Goode for not resembling the Ozymandias in the comic because I felt Goode's performance actually added dimensions to the character I hadn't seen in the novel. More so than JEH did with Rorschach and even Billy Crudup with Doc M, Goode really made the movie a better experience for me.

Guh, same with my viewing. Although in that, people were even giggling at Dan's backside when he was viewing his costume before the fire rescue.

I just saw this tonight and I have to say it was one of the best movies I have seen this year. It had everything I could ask for in a good movie and it was just reall well executed.

Best movie of the year??? When does your calender end, April Fools day?
HACK SYNDER ROCKS!!!

I didn't care for Ghandi. :duh

I wish I could shake your hand right now. I've been trying to explain that to people for YEARS! Oddly enough, I was demonstrating it on the torso bag at ^^^^'s a few weeks ago. Been in the martial arts for most of my life, and there is no way to turn someone's head around like an action figure. It just doesn't happen. I wouldn't have expected anyone else on the board to know this. I feel an odd sense of relief. :banana

:rock:rock:rock:rock :lol

Just got back from seeing it on IMAX, I thought it was brilliant! You'll get no over analyzing of fight scenes here, I enjoyed it from beginning to end. Jackie Earle Haley was ^^^^ING AWESOME. :rock 'Nuff Said.

Glad you like it Ill! Knew you would! :rock

Who bought the popcorn you or Dee.:lol

I think I will go see this tomorrow.

I've read a lot of books that were turned into movies and IMO with very few exceptions the movie is never better than the book. I'm really glad I didn't read the Watchmen graphic novel before seeing the film which I really enjoyed. The best experience is when I've bought the book after seeing a movie I really liked like Jaws or Jurasic Park and now Watchmen it really enhances the story because the book is always much better.

Dare I ask: is it better than The Dark Knight?? :lol

No. Not even close, imo (and I LOVED Watchmen). Dark Knight was a great movie all around while Watchmen just has a something about that just makes it polarizing between certain tastes and personalities.
