Problems aside, I think Sideshow's style is still the best, there's a nice realism to their fleshtones and eyes, where others, especially Medi, have a toy feel to their paints.

have you seen medicom jango fett?

Yes I have, but I think part of what lends itself to non toy looking plastic is that he's not caucasian like Wolverine and Jack Sparrow and Luke, etc. and all of those figures have a toyish look to them. For caucasian skin tones, I still feel Sideshow is the best and most realistic.

Sarah now "Shipping Soon" on my Account. BUT because I have my stuff shipped double boxed will get her a few days later. However it looks like some of you may get her as soon as Tomorrow if she starts to ship tonight so please post pics when you get her...

It'll be interesting to see how those sunglasses look on her, hard to judge with any SSC pics...

Plus it may be time to get out the silver metallic sharpie on some of her gear...

i'm curious. isn't sideshow near you? why do you need your items double boxed? if it arrives damaged, can't you get a replacement? how much more to you spend to have it shipped this way?

I have had more than one box damaged in shipping. Fortunately since they switched to larger boxes I haven't had this problem.

Two reasons:

1) I like my shipping boxes mint and label free

2) Protection against crushing/damage.

I don't know if it costs more, been doing this for years and never had a problem.

but..... they're shipping boxes. That's like wanting to get all your mail envelopes with no stamps on it or addresses written on the front. The actual figure box? the nice shiny one with pics, i can get that

but the shipping cardboard box? why?

I thought I explained that already. I guess you've never heard of UPS. :lol They literally throw stuff into trucks, why risk crushed corners? Plus I consider shipping boxes as part of the item as many other Collectors do. It is marked as such and is a great way to store and protect the Decorative box.

Btw, There are quite a few double boxers here...

Double boxer here. I live about 45 minutes away from Sideshow, the first few 12" Star Wars figs I received, the mailer boxes arrived pretty trashed.

They were my first SSC purchases at the time, and I was shocked, that SSC would ship in just their outer shipping boxes. I open all my figs, but I expect the presentation boxes not to be FUBAR'ed.

Working for a shipping company, I see first hand the results of inadequate packaging, even well packed packages.

Not to mention water damage from spills in the delivery truck. That's always fun too... :lol

Anyway... has anybody received their Sarah Connor yet?

My account still says shipping soon. Thought these would be going out last night. Guess not...
