i'm curious as to why people continue to buy if they are unhappy with the company?

The reason lies in your question. There is a dissatisfaction amongst some people with THE COMPANY, not the products. I'm sure pjam and dd are looking at Sarah and thinking negatively on Sideshow for the watch incident, but looking at the Sarah figure feeling glad it's finally here, and still pleased with the figure and not feeling it's a bad figure without the watch, just expressing an emotional standpoint on the practices of the company around the product.

I can only speak for myself, but I could disagree with a company's practices and still buy from them when it comes to collectibles because bottom line for me, it's about finding products I really like and if I feel price and product work for me, I could care less whatever I feel towards the company that produces it because I am getting something I really want, it'd take something truly horriffic or atrocious from a company to turn me off of buying products I really want.

Sometimes you just gotta take what you can get.

Sucks to look on the box and see her wearing a watch the figure does not come with.

Totally EF, I started this thread for godsakes because I always wanted a Sarah. What get's me is a decision was made at SS to exclude this at the expense of collectors and not inform them. Maybe the glasses cost more to develop or whatever but THEY decided to nickel and dime the Collector so they could make another buck on this instead of pleasing the Collector by including it as part of her outfit. Now it is incomplete and Collectors have to fish around to find and pay for one to complete the piece. It's lame.

It's just petty of them IMO and indicates how they operate so be warned...

Instead they should have just raised the price. I would've paid a 5 bucks to have it included.

That's a double-edged sword. If they raised the price, we'd all be b!tchin' about it saying things like "five bucks for a f'n watch?!?!?" They listed the piece on the pre-order page at the price listed so we should get all of the accessories they listed on the pre-order page.

I would see it as them raising the quality on a figure, which is what SS needs to do across the board. I will pay for quality, if cheap bastards wanna pitch a fit can cancel and go on playing with their Hasblo Terminator figures.

I have to agree here.

Also, don't forget, HT included an entire Ripley figure WITHOUT changing the price. I don't think we should be penalized if something ends up costing a little more during production. The company should take the hit, not us.

Guys I am a Sideshow fan and will continue to buy from them. However, this is a long standing argument. Lets face it. THEY ARE NEVER UP FRONT! NEVER! Their figures are always different then when you pre-ordered them. To the exception for me was Jabba. That is what I paid for and that is what I had received. This is no different than the Anakin lipstick saga. Everyone wants armored figs??? I say wait till they can get the regular ones right.

I don't see adding a bunch of tiny plastic accessories in the tray as raising the quality of their figures. If they want to do that, first they need to redesign the outdated Buck body and then start painting their figures better. I could live without one or two little accesories in lieu of better quality painted sculpts and bodies. I will gladly pay on the level of imported figures for premium quality figures.

That is not the solution. They should have provided what they shown. If you see a Tv in an Ad and go to Best Buy to purchase it and they show you something different I guess you would except that??? No you wouldn't and this is no different. :monkey3

They call that Bait & Switch.

Deficate I will agree with you. It is time we see better quality. I don't mind paying more. Just show me what I am getting at the start. I doubt when I get my medicom Sandtrooper it will be any less than as pictured.

hate to say this but if their regular practices are bait and switch, they must be breaking the law. my grandmother in florida told me once when a hurricane was coming, a grocery store raised the price of a gallon of water to over $5. price gauging and bait and switch are highly frowned upon by the state attorney and i would think the federal trade commission or consumer protection. they don't act if there isn't a number of complaints though. sideshow should be watching their ps and qs or all hell could break loose. but they probably have a disclaimer to cover their butts. doesn't help the customer though.

They get around this by putting a disclaimer up saying that the pics are prototypes and the final product may vary.

The disclaimer is "Product shown may not be final product." They put that on all of their prototype images which are shown during item pre-order. Now, who is going to lodge a complaint with the Better Business Bureau or the Federal Trade Commission over the omission of a little plastic watch? Come on, it's ludicrous. We complain about it and yell at them for it here but basically we are just getting it off our chest and to make it known that we are not happy about it. Really, I love Sideshow. I really do. I think they are one of the coolest companies around. It's just damned frustrating because you see the potential of what they are capable of achieving and they always come up just short of greatness. Close, but not close enough. That's just not acceptable. We're just trying to give them a kick in the ass for their own good and for ours. Come on Sideshow, we know you can do better than this. DO IT! DO IT NOWWWWW!!!!!

True dat Dek...

Well, with Sarah coming in a few days I just thought I'd commemorate with the 500th Post. Can't wait to see what some of you guys do with this fig.
