Around that scale would be preferable to a lot of people. It will be the Cave Troll of the Hobbit line

Anything smaller would fall into the open es trinket bracket along with the pin badges and mini figures

I'd expect him to be around Cave Troll size to be honest. He's I think 10-11' tall so that would make for a decent sized statue.

I don't expect he'll be cheap even if he's Cave Troll size, which is really what I expect he'll be size wise. Edition Size I think 500-750 is probably about right.

He's a major character in the story and a visually memorable one on screen. I think he will be made in 1/6 scale for around £300 for a stand alone figure with an es of 750

I got no problem waiting considering I ordered two. Worst case scenario I'll have to give one up. For now I don't want to do that. This might be the greatest 1/6 piece made to date.

I want it now and waiting for this stinks but in the end its a pretty spectacular release. So when it does arrive its going to be one of the most impressive pieces most of us have.

I agree... Just on photos alone it might be the best and greatest Middle earth statue made to date IMHO

As I've said before just wait until you get to see it in person. As good as the pictures we all took of it were seeing it in person will blow folks away. Its up there I would agree with that.

Part of what makes an iconic statue is the character. It may be the best visually and in terms of size, but I'd still choose other statues over it such as ring wraith on steed and Sauron.
Now when Smaug comes out, I sure hope he'd be able to blow Azog away.

Yeah, I agree the character does come into play. Azog is a pretty cool looking character IMO. The RWOS is easily one of the best statues I've ever owned and I would also put Sauron up there. However, I have no problem saying I think this Azog statue will make the list. I would assume Weta's Smaug statue will be uber impressive.

I'm hoping for something jaw dropping. Hopefully by that time my PO list is nice and short.

Films vs Books again as far as Azog as a character goes. I want him for his sheer presence within the lore of the line of Durin, and his screen visualisation has been a plus as well as he looks brutal!
Dain as a major player would be a huge plus for me and if matched to face Azog on alleged War boar, then

But WETA have already stated that the current Dwarves and Azog line up are to compliment each other so who knows if we will see another Rider and steed piece like this
