As I mentioned before I am almost certain going to cancel this (and dump all the rest of the line as well).

I think you should keep this one just for the grail aspect. I'm sure some cancelled the Balrog back when are saying "Why the f did I do that?!" Just saying. Something to think about

Time will tell I suppose but I don't feel anymore grails coming out of this line. With few exceptions that date from Weta's earliest re-entry to ME collectibles, most of this stuff takes a huge dive in the aftermarket and I am not one to suffer that very well. But Azog is 700 dollars. I can't see anyone in their right mind pay more for this piece than the original Balrog which goes for about double this now right? People are dumping Barad-dur for 500 dollars in seemingly endless supply. There was grail talk there as well but there is no hint that this is selling out anytime soon.

Remember.. This one is L/E of only 500 and the huge heavy sculpt is to die for. For a $700 piece it sold out in an incredible 4 weeks. Barad-Dur has not sold out after almost 1 1/2 years and has L/E 1000. If it was L/E 500 the Dark Tower would not be so cheap in the after market. IMHO the Azog piece is the one Hobbit piece I would keep if I was going to keep only one. I think it's the greatest 1/6 piece made to date. When in hand pics come and more folks see this one in person many will say "Damn I shoulda ordered this!" IMHO and Just my advice. Good luck

I think Azog has a chance to do well on the secondary market, though I really don't give a care if it does. I mean its always nice to see things go up in value but I'm buying it because I care about the subject matter first. As far as grails go I think again Azog could be one but if he doesn't that's ok too.

I cancelled mine a week ago. Thought about for a long time as it looks like a really great figure, but other things are happening for me next year so the luxuries are the first thing to get the axe. I'm content to stick with what I got, and there will always be other things in the future. Like Erebor environment and Smaug. :)

Collecting for aftermarket value is always something that we as collectors would like to have in our favor, when that's less of a concern collecting and even cancelling items is a lot easier.

Everyone has to do what they gotta do... This particular piece has such a phenomenal chance for grail greatness

Just my opinion...at 700.00 retail, it is never going to go up in value like the SSC LoTR. They had some room to move. This does not. And those pieces hover around this price now. And most of the time they do not sell. Drop them around 500-600 and they will. I think the price point kills any future value.

Now, having been against the piece, I will probably go ahead and acquire it as I am very intrigued by the metal skeleton. If they change that, I am out.

While at least Azog is named in the books, unlike Lurtz, I would not say he was poplar or important. He died early unlike in the movie where he seems to be a general in Sauron's army.

I do not see it going up, but I do not think it will be a give away like the other Weta pieces.

Yeah I don't want to imply I buy pieces for their potential to appreciate. I really don't figure that into the equation at all. But I do heavily weight whether a piece will depreciate as so many have.

+1, this is where I am thinking as well. Weta has priced any future appreciation into their retail. I really can't see Fili ever selling for more than 250 dollars but who knows. I paid about 100 less for him and still feel letdown.

Hey Josh, as gold members how many dollars worth of points are we going to score from this beauty?
