If your order page (or email confirmation) said "Rivendell (First 300 with art print)" then it is within the first 300.

Ok. Well, I ended up with 5 of those.
Gotta give the axe to 4 of them.Product page just now says Rivendell but you know you got one of the 300 if:
How do I know that my order is one of the first 300?
Your order confirmation email will state the name of the product you ordered as "Rivendell (First 300 with art print)". On subsequent orders, the product ordered will only be called "Rivendell".

11? That's a whole lot or Rivendell. I think you should keep all your orders and display them in a circle.

What makes you say that? I just ordered 2 mins ago and the item was listed as "Pre-order: Rivendell (First 300 with art print)".
In the "about page" they state that the title would change or some such once the 300 are gone. This is what my order states so that's what I'm expecting...
I don't see this going up much in value with it being an open edition beyond the first 300. They'll make lots more once The Hobbit comes out...

Weta have posted at SandF that theres going to be some clean up due to people ordering numerous pieces because of the server errors..so im not surprised its still available

Well in fairness to myself I did say an OE would run between $500-$600, and so while I was off somewhat I can take consolation in the fact that I won't be spending as much as I expected to.
Based on the OE price though, I don't think my prediection of a $800-$1000 500 ES Rivendell would have been off the mark at all.

Since I missed the first 300, I'm in no rush to order, since it's now an open edition. Gives me a chance to slowly save up the funds.

As for the piece itself, the structures and design look very impressive. I'm still not sure about the trees, though. Need time to let it sink in.

Now that the dust is settling (53 minutes for my pre-order to go through) I think we can say that there must have been some legacy costs with the PP environment that made the price so high. Then again, Weta pulled a tricksy on us; I don't recall anyone predicting a semi-limited run-within-a-run type of approach. This is sort of the best of both worlds. Still the 400 dollar tag is really nice, 18 inches is impressive. Hopefully the 300 limited pieces sell out ASAP, that would make me feel good about the whole thing for some reason.
