Re: WGP's Doctor Who (printed pics posted!)

Best Tom sculpt ever. :clap God, I can't wait to get my hands on that.

Re: WGP's Doctor Who (printed pics posted!)

Chu's sculpt is amazing. I am so happy we got him to do some Who sculpts for us which was a huuuuge priority for me (laugh). If have them on the computer I will just stare at them all day.

Just because of the annoying nature how the slow progress we've had getting things out has been, the ride has been long--- akin to a car ride with 5 screaming brother and sisters in a 1974 Volkswagon bug travelling cross country. Twice. But now as you are seeing finished pics crop up in other WGP threads and things get released, we'll have more money to expedite future projects faster.

Right now we are still working on getting the fabric printing done for Sarahs Andy Pandy costume and are awaiting fabric samples from a new place to check out their quality. The first two printed fabrics attempts we recieved from the first place were pretty sad.

How is the progress on the 4th Doctor's outfit? I hope it looks better than the Big Chief one - that one looks "doll-like" as in it seems too big for the figure:

Remember ours is the S18 costume. I had to go to a different tailor because the person who was going to do it was taking a long time, stopped giving me updates, and stopped giving me the courtesy of returning my e-mails when I asked for updates, so put the project behind by a good six months.

The S18 costume is now slated to be done by our Sarah Jane seamstress once she is done with that.

For the Sarah Jane project, we approved the fabric printing last Wed so the material is being created now.

Over with our other seamstress Romana's costume is wrapping up now. Her sonic and boot-feet were printed this week with our Walking Dead stuff, her wig was started to be worked on this weekend by our wigmaker, and her head was sent off to Silent Surfer to be painted.

On the casting front The S18 Tom, Sarah, and Brig heads are due to be cast by our UK printer just as soon as they finish the Indy hats... only we haven't heard from them since the 11th when they were due to start and haven't gotten an update. Which is unfortunately normal to almost every caster, seamstress, & tailor we ever work with, even when we try new people. I try to make time to hate all of them a little bit each day.

I know yours will be from the later version. Just that regardless of what version the costume is, I hope it doesn't look baggy like the Big Chief version

Apprehension noted and that sort of thing is easier to control on a more personal customs level.

I just got pics back of the test wig for Romana and I am VERY happy with the results. The artist said her method is sort of an industry secret, but I bet it's not to far off from what Lasiren does. This is great news for any further wigged characters WGP makes. Since Leelas hair is very similar, this test works for her as well. :)

I think you may be right- the part is sort of telling.

Those close-ups of the Tom HS are simply amazing. Can't wait, can't wait for him and Sarah! :panic:

Re: WGP's Doctor Who (printed pics posted!)

Hey gang, just wanted to give you a few random Who updates:

1)I was told by the moldmaker doing K-9 I could have the finished proto for our K-9 by Christmas if not sooner! Having him timed for release with Romana or Sarah would be amazing! More news as things develop.

2)I just received word from Silent Surfer he is done painting Romanas head. I have pics waiting at my e-mail at home!

3)I received her completed proto wig in the mail last week.

4)Romanas fabric printing for her suspenders turned out great! Next mission- S18 Toms vest!

5)Our moldmaker recieved her sonic and boots from the printer today along with the Walking Dead heads. Awaiting a review.

6)I don’t care if the Indy casters have 75 Indy hats to cast before they can get to our Who heads, making a mold takes two days. I asked them if they can get that started now to get **** moving. This is really annoying.

7)Sewing should have commenced on the Sarah Jane costume now that her material has been shipped and recieved by that seamstress.

More news as I get it!

What a great sculpt the Romana head was. Excellent likeness.

Are you waiting to put hair on the sculpt before showing it?

Re: WGP's Doctor Who (printed pics posted!)

Man, I wish you guys were doing Romana I. Then I could be excited about this development. :slap

Re: WGP's Doctor Who (printed pics posted!)

ALRIGHT, UPDATE TIME!

The S18 Tom heads and Brig heads are being cast so we are asking for payments at this time for those that want them now (as opposed to those waiting to get the S18 Toms heads with the costume set which is a few months off at least). We have recieved a few of each head already as tests (pics will follow soon) and the rest are due to be completed by "Dec 15th at the latest" then shipped. This is awesome news and came as a surprise because this caster had an order they were supposed to be casting their list of stuff from us in and aren't following it. :panic:

Heads are $55 each. $7 shipping covers both.

Sarah is at a different caster because these guys were going so slow so won't be shipping together (ugh!).

Beautifully, but wayyyyy slower than it ought to be, man. I keep asking for a Christmas ETA on the proto which is artfully dodged every E-mail conversation. The last update I had was she had recieved the fabric printed suspender/vest part I had made and shipped to her.

Oh, and one of her boot feet arrived from the printers to the caster. One..of her bootfeet.

But in better news the K-9 moldmaker/caster again told me, unsolicited (which NEVER happens) I should have the first K-9 proto by Christmas.

Seamstresses/casters tend to treat deadlines much like Douglas Adams did, (but I am still happy to get them). :impatient:
