Yeah. I can listen to some of Sting's solo stuff, and as far as "adult contemporary" style music goes, it's pretty good. But too sentimental and soft for my tastes. Certainly not comparable to the Police, who are probably my favorite band. Funny that in the entire Police catalog, you'll be hard pressed to find a single song without dark undertones or an edge of some kind. Songs about anxiety, control and domination over others, conflict of all sorts, suicide, murder, prostitution, obsessive and stalking behavior, sex dolls, loneliness and hopelessness, suffering in the 3rd World, etc. Sting's solo catalog seems to be about 90% lovey-dovey romance stuff, interspersed with more fluffy easy listening fare like "An Englishman in New York" or "Brand New Day."These newer tracks are kind of weak.(
